More complaints than ever before

The town councils have been called off, but the mayors of the municipalities speak out through other channels.

Christel Muggenthal in Wörthsee, too.

In the course of today, a video of about 40 minutes with their explanations can be found on the website.

In another clip, she answers questions from citizens about environmental protection and traffic.

Woerthsee

- The mayor is sitting at her desk in the town hall, the lake is glowing in the background, and it is also about that indirectly: The rush to the municipality of Wörthsee, especially the districts near the lake such as Steinebach and Walchstadt, has obviously grown to a large number Lawsuits filed.

“We're used to grief, but this year there were a lot of complaints,” says Muggenthal.

The corona pandemic drove the townspeople into the district.

The majority obviously did not use public transport.

Parked driveways and escape routes caused a lot of trouble and also put the administration under pressure.

"An increasing aggressiveness was noticeable between locals and tourists", says Muggenthal, who also takes the position "that we cannot raise drawbridges".

Those looking for relaxation, including Remmidemmi, are reasonable for the few beautiful summer weeks.

"The rest of the year you live privileged for it."

Nevertheless, the community has done a lot to at least master the parking lot issue.

The wild campers in the parking lots at Rossschwemme and Maistraße have been put a stop to height restrictions.

The Seestrasse became a bicycle route, in which Tempo 30 applies and cyclists are given priority.

Muggenthal does not believe in the construction of further parking spaces: This only creates more traffic, "you can see that in the example of Stegen in Inning".

The biggest problem would be that tourists did not use local public transport.

The municipalities are therefore in talks with the district office and other authorities, according to Muggenthal.

Alternatives are cheaper S-Bahn group tickets or a so-called bathing bus.

“However, these are measures that need staying power to be implemented.” The municipal security service would be more on the go, and that also applies to the water police, who are now also on duty at weekends.

And the building yard is reinforced by a cleaning team to get the tourist trash under control.

When it comes to traffic, the mayor also appeals to the locals.

“Because a lot of it is homemade,” she says and shows, based on the flow of traffic in town, that people in Wörthsee also like to drive too much, and that they do too.

“We also have to do something ourselves.

Drive less car, use local public transport, cycle, walk more. "

The large projects of the community are then a topic.

The renovation of the Kirchenwirt is now estimated at 3.4 million euros.

"He was badly treated by the tenants," says Muggenthal.

The costs are mainly caused by deficiencies in the statics.

Walls were simply torn out, cables were incorrectly laid.

The community reckons that the high costs - the community had bought the Kirchenwirt for 2.3 million euros - will only pay off in 30 years.

The high costs are also the reason why the municipality is building rental apartments on the site.

"Quite apart from the fact that we also need apartments."

The mayor also uses photos to explain the design of the perimeter, other residential construction projects such as the cooperative living on Teilrain, the plans of the church foundation and the living association.

She leaves no doubt that she and the local council consider the redensification of the partial drainage area, including local suppliers, to be sensible and correct.

She does not comment on the protest against the supermarket at the weekend (we reported).

Only one thing is missing from the statement of accounts.

The budget figures for the current year.

Treasurer Thomas Dischner explains the figures from the previous year, and with these, the community started the Corona year at least stable.

For 2020, however, Dischner expects decent losses.

He says nothing about how high these are.
