The Nabed Aleppo Exhibition for Handicrafts and Heritage Professions concluded its activities today after it was extended for one day due to the increase in the number of visitors, which exceeded 3,000 fans of heritage and folkloric collections.

More than 63 craftsmen representing pottery making crafts, Arabic calligraphy, traditional clothes, sweets, Aleppian food, copperware, carpets, embroideries, oriental products, Aleppian laurel soap, and others participated in the exhibition hosted by Manarat Al Muhafaza on the land of the industrial and agricultural production market and lasted 4 days.

Bakour Farah, head of the Craftsmen Union in Aleppo, explained to the SANA reporter that the exhibition, which was held in partnership with the Syrian Trust for Development, contributed to highlighting, promoting and marketing the crafts of fathers and grandfathers, and it is a message for every craftsman abroad to return to his homeland and contribute to the revival of life of this traditional crafts.

Ahmed Kubba, Economic Supervisor at the Syrian Trust for Development in Aleppo stated that the aim of the exhibition is to promote traditions and traditional old handicrafts and to create a market for their disposal through the public informing them and direct sales by producers, noting the operational grants and loans that were provided to a number of participants and graduates of professional courses from the Syrian Trust to enable them to Displaying and marketing their products.

The Sana camera toured a number of wings and looked at its products, where the craftsman Muhammad Habash, a handicraft maker, who learned from his ancestors since 1960, that he produces various types of Arabic coffee delicates and outbreaks and traditional copper utensils and is unique in making copper jugs with huge sizes exceeding 3 meters in height, stressing his keenness On preserving this profession through teaching boys

He also pointed out that the exhibition represented an important opportunity to highlight and market its products, and proved that Aleppo has recovered from terrorism and said, "Today, Aleppo craftsmen and manufacturers are innovating in their production to push the economy forward in it."

Samar Rasul explained that she is displaying her handcrafted products from gypsum and insulating materials such as candles, decorative cups and plants, stressing that the exhibition provided her with the opportunity to display and market her production.

Alia Rehawi mentioned that she participated in the types of sweets and handcrafted pastries, calling for the establishment of such exhibitions to enable small producers and craftsmen to display and market their products and thus preserve these crafts from disappearing.

And Ahmed Hamami stated that he participated in the craft of making copper chandeliers and handcrafted crystals, explaining that he is working on renewing the ancestral profession with creative touches that show its aesthetics through inlaying the copper with crystal.

Ahmed Kayali said that he participated in the ready-made and hand-made clothes of the old traditional Aleppian dress for men and women, the headdress, the red cowl, the fabrics and the towels, explaining that these products still have great favor with many.

A number of visitors expressed their admiration for the exhibition’s holdings, as it reminds them of the heritage of the fathers and grandfathers, stressing their keenness to acquire part of it to remain a witness to the skill and art of the Aleppian craftsman.
