According to the latest information from the Land Registry, the Commissioner of Police, Tang Pingqiang, who was included in the first round of the list, paid off the mortgage of the wholly owned Southern District Chi Fu Garden unit on the same day.

In fact, Deng Bingqiang was just three days before the first round of sanctions were announced by the United States in August. It was only three months after the remortgage from HSBC to Bank of China Hong Kong. The mortgage was suddenly paid off on the day the new sanctions list was announced.

Deng Bingqiang purchased the Fortune Garden unit for 6.25 million yuan in March 2017, and it has been mortgaged by HSBC.

The unit has two bedrooms and one living room, with partial sea views and a saleable area of ​​435 square feet. The current market value has risen to about 6.5 million yuan.

It is understood that Deng declared that the unit was for his own use at the end of last year.
