An indictment was filed against a resident of Acre, a 32-year-old man, for pedophilia in a 12-year-old girl.
The accused, Muataz Hassarma, was arrested along with his brother a few days ago by the police in a planned operation, after earlier sending sex messages and pornographic videos to the 12-year-old.
According to the indictment, the man used to send the girls pictures of his penis and videos that included blatant sexual content in which he appeared together with a young woman in her 20s.
The defendant even asked the girls to send him intimate pictures of them.
His detention was extended several times until the indictment was filed, while his brother was released to his home as he was found unaware of the defendant's actions.

During the investigation, which began in mid-October, it was revealed that the suspect had approached dozens of girls across the country, mostly on the social network Instagram.
Following this, his picture was published in the media in order to locate additional cases and encourage the victims to file complaints.
As the investigation progressed it emerged that the suspect had used a large number of fake profiles, some even of girls, and through them made contact with the victims, aged 12-15.
The affair began when a mother from the center of the country showed vigilance and noticed that a boy, who calls himself "Adam", was sexually harassing her 13-year-old daughter on the Instagram app, and other girls with whom her daughter was in a relationship.
The mother informed the parents of the other girls about it.
In view of the above, she asked a 12-year-old mother from Afula to see her correspondence on her cell phone, where she was exposed to blatant sexual content.
On the same day, the mother filed a complaint at the Afula police station.

Upon filing the complaint, investigators from the cyber unit of the Northern District Police, together with the Israel Police's hotline 105, began a comprehensive investigation in order to trace the identity of the harasser behind the character of "Adam", who presents a picture of a young boy.
Upon discovering that "Adam" is Hasarma, investigators began following him online and found that he was trying to encourage another 12-year-old girl, the complainant's girlfriend, to meet him.
Investigators approached the girl and arranged a meeting for the next day between the two girls and the suspect.
The meeting was scheduled to take place in a public park in Afula, and the suspect arrived at the scene with his brother while on the way he was in telephone contact with the girls who were staying with police investigators.
When the suspect and his brother arrived at the public park, SAR investigators jumped on them and arrested them.

The willingness of children and teens to make social connections through networks makes it easier for pedophiles and sex offenders, who impersonate boys and girls their age, to contact and expose them to sexual content, encouraging them to expose themselves to the camera and perform sexual acts for gratification.
From the moment a meeting is held on the network, the distance is short to a physical meeting, to committing an indecent act and even to raping the minor.

The police are calling on parents, especially these days, to talk to the children about the many dangers that exist on social networks and explain to them that in any case where a stranger addresses them, with an emphasis on social networks, it is forbidden to answer and the call should be directed to the responsible adult.
Children should also be instructed not to upload photos on social media in a situation where they are open to the general public, to use only a private account, and not to allow friendships with people they do not know.
In addition, it is recommended to be vigilant and follow the social networks in which their children surf.
The cumulative experience of the Israel Police shows that minors are afraid to share information with their parents for fear that they will restrict their use of social networks.
In cases where the minors are threatened by the same harasser they are even afraid to share the case and hide it.
