Seven passengers and two crew members of the "SeaDream 1" tested positive for Covid-19

ending the voyage prematurely.
There were a total of 53 guests and 66 crew members on board.
In a press release from the SeaDream Yacht Club on November 12th, it was stated that all employees had tested negative, while the guests had to undergo another test.

a 7-night voyage
on November 7 with
tightened health and safety protocols
.
The guests are said to have been tested twice before embarkation.
A passenger then showed the first symptoms a few days after the start of the journey, so the cruise was canceled in order to test all holidaymakers and crew members again.

On Saturday, the vacations that tested negative were allowed to leave the ship again, as passenger Ben Hewitt reported to CNN.
The Covid-infected passengers were brought back to the USA on a private flight.
"We are working closely with local health and government agencies to address this situation in the best possible way," said Andreas Brynested of SeaDreams.
The company is a cruise line based in Oslo.
As a consequence, the shipping company has now
paused
the
cruise
season for the rest of the year
.
"Several negative corona tests were required before guests were allowed to board the ship, but that was not enough to avoid an outbreak of Covid-19 on board," said a press release.
“SeaDream successfully completed more than 20 trips without any incident during the pandemic, and further improvements were made to the logs ahead of the Barbados season.
The company will now spend time evaluating the situation and seeing whether operation with a low risk of corona infection is possible. ”*
