An unusual wooden sculpture on a ridge in the Allgäu Alps was knocked over by strangers.
Now helpers put the "cultural monument" back on.
Around four years ago, a slightly different
wooden figure was erected
on the
Grünten Mountain
(1738).
Most recently,
however
, the famous
sculpture
was overturned -
helpers
on
the Internet said they were
ready to set it up.
The
"lack of stability"
is loud municipality no reason the figure to remove.
Rettenberg - For around four years, the 1738 meter high Grünten - a ridge in the
Allgäu Alps
- has
been adorned with
a
wooden figure
in the form of a male genitals.
For reasons unknown, the
sculpture was
brought down.
As a result,
many users on
social networks
agreed to help set up - with success.
The
monster
,
over two meters high,
is back.
It stands again: Unusual wooden figure knocked over in Oberallgäu - "probably cows rubbed against it"
In the past, the wooden penis did not show that much
steadfastness
.
"It has often happened that he fell over," quotes the
German Press Agency (dpa),
the former
host of
the Grüntenhütte, Norbert Zeberle.
He suspects that this time
cows
rubbed
against
it and caused the figure
to fall
.
Zeberle doesn't know exactly
how the
sculpture got
on the mountain.
“It was suddenly there on May 1st,” he says.
Young people from
Rettenberg
(Oberallgäu district) apparently
pulled
the wooden penis
up the mountain
with a
sledge
.
"We were surprised, but immediately
marketed it
as our
maypole
."
Only a few
hikers
would have
complained about the
phallic symbol
.
“Cultural monument” in Oberallgäu is back: the community sees the sculpture relaxed
The
municipality of Rettenberg also
sees the
“cultural monument”
declared
on
Google Maps
relaxed: the sculpture is neither on private property nor is it directly on the
hiking trail
, emphasizes Mayor Nikolaus Weißinger
(CSU) according to
dpa
.
Due to the lack of "stability" of the wooden penis, nobody has been
harmed
so far
.
So there is
no reason
for the community to
do
anything.
