The Graefelfinger are called on this Sunday, November 22nd, to vote in a referendum on the future sports and swimming pool.

Many have already done so by letter.

Graefelfing

- Even before the vote and the eagerly anticipated count on Sunday, it was clear: Participation in this referendum is greater than in any other in Graefelfing.

On Friday morning, the number of voting letters received had already reached 5600. With around 10,750 voters, this corresponded to a participation of 52 percent.

So it was already clear in advance: The so-called quorum, the 20 percent mark of those entitled to vote, which the variant with the most votes needs to make the referendum valid, had been reached.

As reported, the community is planning to build a swimming and three-field sports hall in the forest north of Adalbert-Stifter-Straße.

The 30 million project meets the most modern requirements for ecological building and is supported by a large majority of the council.

The supporters, including TSV Graefelfing and the parents' councils of the local schools, point to the great need for such sports facilities in Graefelfing.

The citizens' initiative “Save the School Forest” advertises with a no in the referendum and instead proposes a building as a stacking solution on the school campus itself.

She argues with the loss of around 8,600 m2 of forest and the consequences for the environment and climate.

Because the municipal council rejected a referendum initiated by the citizens' initiative for legal reasons, it initiated the referendum as a referendum.

On Sundays, the polling stations in the community center, the Graefelfing elementary school and the Lochham elementary school are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (bring your voting slip).

The results of the referendum can be seen on the municipality's website from 6 p.m.

The town hall remains closed to protect against infection.
