“Dear Santa Claus, this year we are making the commitment to a Christmas without Amazon”.
Left-wing elected officials launched an online petition last Tuesday to encourage the French to do their Christmas shopping in local shops, rather than at the American leader in e-commerce.
Candidate for the candidacy of environmentalists, Yannick Jadot did not wish to sign.
“I find this petition very good, but we all have to be careful about what Amazon is,”
MEP EELV asked LCI on Friday morning.
Against the grain, once again, of his own camp.

The former leader of European environmentalists explains that he
“does not want to prevent
” “
people who only have Amazon to access it
”.
Yannick Jadot, for example, recalled that there are
"many places in France"
where bookstores are not nearby.
"So it's not just bookstores that have to be kept alive, it's access to books,"
he said.
Yannick Jadot also calls for the immediate reopening of shops deemed
"non-essential"
.
“It's a mistake to have closed them.
We see it at the level of our neighborhoods, our villages, our cities.
These small businesses hold the economic vitality of our town centers, our towns ”,
judged the MEP.
"Since the new confinement, I have defended the opening of small businesses,"
insisted Yannick Jadot, ensuring that all traders had made
"efforts"
to ensure compliance with health instructions since the end of the first confinement.
