In the cemetery in one of the settlements near the city of Ashkelon, police forces were held this morning (Friday) ahead of the funeral of the four-month-old baby who was allegedly murdered by his parents.

The funeral is now taking place and several dozen people are attending, with heavy police security due to the presence of the parents, who as mentioned are detained on suspicion of murdering him.

After the court yesterday extended the detention of the mother and father suspected of murdering a helpless minor, abusing and assaulting, the parents arrived at the cemetery with police escort handcuffed and under police escort.

Investigators into the four-month-old baby's death case claimed yesterday that suspicions are growing that despite the denials, the couple were involved in harming him.

At a hearing held on Thursday in the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court, the mother's detention was extended until Monday, while the father's detention was extended until Thursday.

Police will also allow parents to attend a funeral to be held tomorrow.

During the hearing, the police representative presented photos showing the baby the day before he was taken to Barzilai Medical Center, in which he is relaxed and smiling.

Did count in the hearing that she witnessed him being hit, shaken and slapped on the couch.

At this point, the suspect father admitted that an incident occurred two months ago in which he laid the child on the couch rigidly, however he did not suffer any injuries as a result.

The police representative also told the court excerpts from the confrontation between the couple: "The mother said that in one incident he bounced him on the hand and it seemed unusual to her. She shouted at him 'what are you doing' because he bounced him unusually. She said the mother said that she "She noticed swelling on the baby's head and ear. It was examined but nothing was found in it."

The police representative added: "All the findings raise a very high suspicion that his death was caused by an injury and moreover, repeated injuries were found. The investigation material shows two cases in which violence was used by the suspect and at the same time the occult. .

It should be noted that family members supported the parents during the hearing.

The mother's sister said: "We are with you, we believe in you. Do not despair, everything is for the best. Be calm we know you treated him with warmth and love."

The baby's grandmother turned to her daughter: "Everything will be fine, we are with you. This child was born for 4 months repair. This is probably what God has ordained. You will be released and bring more children into the world, with the help of the name. It will be all right."

In her decision, the judge said: "The picture today is clearer and complicates the suspect more than the mother. She refused to believe and internalize that her husband was capable of inflicting injuries and causing him harm that eventually led to his death. "His naive explanations were convenient for her. She did not contact the police or the welfare state that she suspected he was abusing. So it turned out that at the end of the day he died."

Attorneys Esther Bar-Zion and Victor Ozen, who represented the father, demanded at the end of the hearing that he be released from custody: "We would like to order the release of the respondent, as he did not cause his son to die.

According to them, "these are not primitive spouses and these are not spouses whose husband, God forbid, terrorizes his wife or vice versa."

In a detailed explanation, attorneys Bar Zion and Hazan claimed that the two loved their son. They rejected the police determination that they caused the baby's death and presented the great difficulty involved in being a parent of a first child: "There is no evidence that they harmed their son, and he may have a hereditary defect.

There is also no claim that release will disrupt investigative proceedings. "
