A year after the official announcement of the first infection with the emerging corona virus in the Chinese city of Wuhan, and the total number of infections recorded in the world so far to more than 58 million and 500 thousand infections, the discovery of a safe and effective vaccine against the emerging corona virus has become the most important concern of the world and companies Global pharmaceuticals, where a number of countries in the world are competing to gain a head start in adopting their vaccine by the World Health Organization, which increased competition to achieve scientific and economic gains.

The race is raging between countries and companies to produce the first vaccine for the virus to be approved by the World Health Organization, as Russia announced on August 11 the discovery of the first vaccine and the imminent start of its production, while American, British and Chinese companies and centers continue to experiment with vaccines of their production.

On September 19, the World Health Organization had indicated that there were 170 potential vaccines against the Corona virus that are currently being worked on in the world, but it has not yet conducted serious tests for any of these vaccines, and consequently, the emergency list of Coronavirus has not been issued.

The Russian Sputnik vaccine, which was developed by specialists from the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the Gamalia Center, is the first recorded vaccine in the world against the emerging corona virus, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund concerned with its production and distribution has previously confirmed that the tests have proven its effectiveness by 92 percent.

The World Health Organization also announced on the 12th of this month that it is studying placing the Sputnik vaccine in the list of vaccines against the Corona virus, as it stated that it is communicating with the Russian Gamalia Scientific Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Research, which developed the vaccine for inclusion in the list of vaccines of emergency cases.

The Russian investment fund expected the production of 500 million doses of Sputnik vaccine outside the country in 2021, as the head of the fund, Kirill Dmitriev, announced that a very high production quantity of Sputnik virus vaccine had been achieved next December, adding that Russia had reached an agreement with India, China, Brazil and Korea regarding the production of the Sputnik vaccine. Russia has received requests from foreign countries to supply it with more than one billion doses of the vaccine.

In a related context, the media quoted a number of researchers as saying that a vaccine for Covid 19 being developed in China showed success in intermediate stage tests, explaining that the vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotec produced a rapid immune response in the tests that included about 700 volunteers.

In Iran, the Iranian health authorities announced on the 13th of this month that five Iranian anti-virus vaccines had been included in the list of candidate vaccines for the World Health Organization, as the Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Saeed Namaki confirmed late last month that the Iranian anti-Corona virus vaccine had passed the testing phase. On animals, it will enter the testing phase on humans soon, pointing out that the stages of testing for the Corona vaccine are underway in the country at the present time by 5 teams, 3 of which have made good progress and are continuing their work according to international standards.

In America, after the American company Pfizer and its German partner Biontec announced at the beginning of last month the successful completion of the third phase of clinical trials on its vaccine, which showed 90 percent effectiveness in protecting against corona, an infectious disease specialist at the French Institute Pasteur Lyell Daniel Camus revealed a defect in US Pfizer Vaccine.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer in Britain, Jonathan "Van Tam", according to the British Evening Daily Press recently reduced the effectiveness of the American vaccine announced by Pfizer in stopping the second wave of the Corona virus, calling for caution about its use.

According to media outlets, last Friday, Pfizer and its partner Biontech announced that they had submitted a request to the US Food and Drug Administration to approve the emergency use of the Covid 19 vaccine, which is the first of its kind to provide protection from the emerging corona virus.

The coalition producing the American company Pfizer and the German Biontec vaccine against the emerging corona virus has also submitted a request to the US Food and Drug Administration to obtain a license to produce it, and this is an essential step to obtaining a permit to circulate the vaccine in the United States.

Prior to this, the European Union announced the possibility of licensing a vaccine from the Pfizer Alliance, Biontec and another produced by Moderna before the end of next December, indicating that the European Medicines Agency could grant a conditional marketing license as of the second half of next month.

The University of Oxford vaccine is one of the expected vaccines as well, after the chief supervisor of the experiments, "Enru Polar", stated that there are great possibilities that the vaccine will be ready before the Christmas period at the end of this year.

The question remains, will the beginning of 2021 be the end of the Corona virus and if one country succeeds in adopting the vaccine that it produced by the World Health Organization, and all countries can use it even the poor “developing” countries, especially since the World Health Organization warned on the 20th of this month about the lack of necessary funds To provide developing countries with the vaccine against the emerging corona virus, calling on the G20 countries to give 4.5 billion dollars to finance the vaccine.
