Diego Milito will leave Racing

.

He announced it on his Instagram account.

"I want to tell you that

I made the decision not to continue from the next management being the club's technical secretary

. The reason is very simple: I do not share the model and ideas of the president's club," he shot.

Five minutes before, the manager communicated it to

Víctor Blanco

.

The president had written to him via WhatsApp to meet on Friday.

Milito refused.

Obviously, the decision had already been made.

"I feel that I have not been listened to and that is why I leave the space for him to continue with his ideas. On the other hand, I want to clarify that this is not from now, it comes from a while ago and I have talked about it repeatedly with him" , clarified the

Prince

, 41 years old.

"I do not share the model and ideas of the president's club. Surely it will sound strong to some, but it is not like that. I have nothing personal against Víctor, whom I respect and understand that he leaves everything for the institution," added the former striker , who took office in December 2017.

"Just choose a different model, which I do not share," he continued about the president of the Avellaneda institution.

"He (Víctor Blanco) has the power as the highest authority, to choose the policies and guidelines towards where he wants to take the club and I respect that strictly because he is the president chosen by the members," he continued.

"I want to clarify that this is not from now and comes from a while ago and I have spoken repeatedly with him," explained one of the greatest idols in the club's history.

"I got involved three years ago to try to persuade and show a different path: that of the professionalization of an area as important as sports," he said in reference to his role as former technical secretary.

"I think it has been successful. With errors and virtues, the results are in sight," he commented on the two titles he won as a manager: the 2018/19 Super League and the 2019 Champions Trophy.

"I also heard that it was said that I asked for a couple of leaders to be removed, which is false. I do not have the power to do so," he commented on his relationship with managers Adrián "Oso" Fernández and Roberto Torres.

"I have always said that proper names are not important. Names pass and the important thing will always be the club. The shield ahead of personal interests. There is no manager, technical director or president that is more important than Racing," he emphasized.

"My idea was to end the policy that Racing had in the 90s, which I suffered. I want another club, that of evolution, technology, work teams and infrastructure improvement," he added.

"I ask you not to take sides or make a mess at this time. We must continue supporting this coaching staff," concluded Diego Milito.

Milito, in addition to his role as a manager, was a participant in the last two Racing titles in Argentine football: two championships as a player (2001 and 2014 -being captain-).

The resignation of the technical secretary occurs two days before the start of the qualifiers with Flamengo from Brazil for the knockout stages of the Copa Libertadores.
