The big breakthrough in Hollywood came with the Swede, born in 1957, when he played the Soviet boxer Ivan Dragon in the action classic Rocky IV.

With her curly brown mane, Sarah Jessica Parker looked completely different in the 80s.

The US actress also had the bright blue eyes at a young age.

In her legendary cinema role in the film "Flashdance" in 1984, Parker was an icon even then and made the jump from Broadway to Hollywood.

As a child of a nobility actor family, Brooke Shields sat in front of the camera for the first time at the age of eleven months.

Her breakthrough at the age of 14 in 1980 brought the young international star fame, but also numerous criticisms for her controversial roles.

Almost 40 years after her first successes, the crazy singer is still on stage.

After a few appearances in TV series and soap operas, the then 19-year-old secured her first record deal.

Still, as one of THE faces of the 70s and 80s punk and new wave scene, Debby Harry and Blondie remain an icon for well over the decade.

Pop Art artist Andy Warhol already knew that back then.

As one of the first rock bands, Blondie produced music videos and was introduced to a wide mass audience by the music channel MTV (founded in 1981).
