The IDF is investigating why a rocket fired at Ashkelon was not intercepted by the "Iron Dome", and is also investigating why a tank fired at a Hamas position without a permit. The findings of the investigation indicate that various technical and operational components were found throughout the incident that influenced the fact that the interception was not carried out, but it was not a human error or a malfunction in the detection and warning systems.
Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Nurkin said: "We will continue to interrogate professionally, but we will not compromise on the end result in protecting the citizens of the State of Israel and we will make every effort to continue to protect the country's skies."
