This text makes it possible to verify the military movements and the arms limitation measures of the signatory countries.
US President Donald Trump denounced this treaty signed by 34 countries and entered into force in 2002, accusing Moscow of violating it.
Several European countries, including France, Germany, Belgium and Spain, regretted this decision while saying they shared American concerns "
relating to the implementation of the provisions of the treaty by the Russian Federation
".

Open Skies
" is one of the international agreements from which the American president decided to withdraw the United States, after the treaty on the Iranian nuclear program, denounced in 2018, and the INF treaty on land-based medium-range missiles, abandoned in 2019.
