During his meeting in Tehran today, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen said, “Iran will continue to strongly defend Syria and its security as an important country in the region and will continue to support the constructive efforts of the United Nations aimed at preserving the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Syria and the restoration of security. Sustainable back to earth ”.

Abd al-Lahian stressed the importance of continuing the work of the constitution discussion committee, noting that all parties must bear responsibility for this.

For his part, Pedersen considered that efforts to solve the crisis in Syria are proceeding on a "relatively good" path, stressing at the same time that “the economic situation of the Syrian people is getting worse, as well as Iran's role in combating terrorism in Syria and supporting the return of Syrian refugees.”
