In a report that lasted for more than an hour, President Alberto Fernández affirmed on Sunday night that he seeks a Peronism "without personalities", said that he does not want to "do albertism" and expressed his opinion about his political link with Cristina Kirchner:

"What more show of support do I have to ask of her?"

Link with Cristina Kirchner

"

Cristina expressed her support for me

when she said that I was going to be the candidate for president. What greater gesture was that?" Said Alberto Fernández, interviewed by the program

Corea del Centro

(NetTV) and said that he had

not met with the vice president.

AF delved into his relationship with Cristina Kirchner when he was reminded of the public letter in which the vice president raises criticism of the Government, in addition to the letter to the IMF from the block of senators from the Frente de Todos.

"I have a real affection for her for her. That is not in question. Then there is the political link, she leads a very important space of the coalition, therefore I must listen to her," he said.

"You haven't seen each other in a long time?" Asked journalist María O'Donnell.

"A little while ago ... but not long ago -answered AF- I don't know, what do I know.

More or less a month.

But before it is the same as now. It is not a problem. The problem is that they are all very aware of me. link with Cristina ".

In this sense, the President considered that the "letter of October 27 has

many praise for the Government."

And also:

"With her we do not think of everything the same. There are things in which we think the same and in others we think differently."

He continued: "We have to govern together, we never have to stress things again (with Cristina) to the point that it breaks.

The result of our breakup

was the government of Mauricio Macri. We cannot afford that luxury."

In this context, AF said that there should no longer be "personalisms" in Peronism and that he is not going to do "albertism."

Even regarding the sensitive point of debate about the future attorney general, Fernández said that Cristina Kirchner supports Daniel Rafecas.

He continued: "Cristina Kirchner is a great leader, but it was not Perón, clearly. If there is someone that I love dearly and of whom I consider myself a disciple, it is Néstor Kirchner, but it was not Perón."

The currency problem and the IMF

Fernández spoke at the beginning of the report about the problem of the bimonetary economy, the fiscal deficit, the new pension formula, the agreement with the IMF and the increase in rates.

"We have a very serious problem which is the

lack of foreign exchange.

From the day we arrived we have few dollars in a society that demands them because it needs to import inputs or sometimes just to save," said AF.

In this picture, the Argentine president said that this happens because "Argentines have suffered from inflationary processes and trust more in the dollar than in the peso."

He added:

"We will be able to order this issue when we have a final agreement with the IMF."

"We have to achieve rationality in the economy - he continued - and part has to do with the fiscal deficit that grew this year because of what we had to face in the pandemic. It is a deficit that more or less all the countries in the world have."

Rates and pensions

Along this path, Alberto Fernández announced that in March they will be discussing the rates and announced that they will make

"selective rates":

"The problem is not that they unfreeze but how they grow," he said.

He also insisted that retirees will beat inflation in 2020, considered that the pension adjustment in the budget "is not a cut" and defended the new pension formula.

"We committed ourselves and

we have taken care of the income of retirees this year

. We committed ourselves from January to December to beat inflation. Now the clothes are torn with the formula of the previous government but with that formula, in real terms, the having fell the 19% ", raised the head of state.

He added: "I would not call it a cut. No retiree stopped receiving. We have taken care that retirees finish at the end of the year. If it were not like that (inflation ends up being higher than the annual percentage credit)

we will have to correct it

."

With the 5% increase in December, in the year pensions and social benefits will accumulate an increase of between 24.2% and 35.3%, depending on the ranges of assets.

As of October, inflation in 10 months was 26.9%.

With the rise in prices forecast for November and December, average annual inflation could exceed 37% end-to-end at the end of the year.

These forecasts, therefore,

advance a year in which retirees will earn below inflation.

Other phrases from the report

Pandemic and Macri.

"We hit bottom with Macri and with the pandemic and we started to grow again. Since August we have been experiencing sustained growth. And we are projecting growth of more than 5 points for next year. Conditions are very good."

Jorge Brito.

"I knew Brito many years ago. He was a guy who understood well what was happening to Argentina"

Devaluation.

"To devalue is to impoverish Argentina, and to favor a group of exporters. I don't share it."
