HKUST student Zhou Zile’s death inquiries entered the second week today (23). After passing by with Zi Le, Meng Weijie, a neighbour, decided to give evidence in court after hearing Zhou’s father’s appeal last week.

He said that that night, he saw a young man running from the parking lot to the flyover, yelling, "Help, first aid, there is a big wok!" He later found the injured man lying on the platform, his knees slightly bent and his head pressed to the ground. He didn't raise his hands, but he seemed to want to support it with his feet, "I feel like I want to get up."

Afterwards, rioters came to the scene and asked with a bad attitude: "What is it? Do you do it?" After Zhou's father left the court, he once again called on other witnesses to provide information.

Zhou Zile (22 years old) was found lying on the second floor platform of Sunde Parking Lot A in the early morning of November 4 last year during a conflict between police and civilians. He died on the 8th of the same month.

A man ran past and said there was a big wok

The male neighbourhood Meng Weijie confessed that he went out for a walk as usual on the evening of November 3 last year. At about 1 am, he walked to the overpass connecting Fukang Garden to the parking lot A of Shangde Village to avoid tear gas.

At 1 o'clock in the morning, he and a middle-aged neighbour stopped by the overpass near the parking lot. At this time, a man ran past them to the Shangde Mall, yelling, "Help, first aid, there is a big wok!"

Witness Meng Weiju said that he had a birthday on the same day as Zhou Zile, and he felt that he had some fate.

Meng and the firefighters were present almost at the same time

Upon seeing this, the middle-aged neighbours went to find out, and at 1:3 to 5, an injured person was found lying in the U-shaped pedestrian corridor on the second floor of the parking lot.

The closed-circuit television footage of the parking lot was shown in the court, and it was seen that two firefighters appeared at 1:6, a minute later they crossed the white low stone wall to the injured person, and Meng appeared almost simultaneously.

Feeling hurt seems to want to get up

Mengzeng took 5 photos and 2 videos at the scene.

He said that he heard firefighters discuss how to turn over for the injured, so he took pictures and recorded the posture before turning over.

The injured person "has a feeling of wanting to get up", describing the opponent's body on the ground, head on the ground, facing the basketball court outside the street, and knees slightly bent.

He also pointed out that the injured man put his hands close to his waist and chest, as if he wanted to get up; while his feet were folded and moved closer to the left side, he wanted to "push up".

There is a riot check

After being blindfolded, according to the firefighter's order, another team of firefighters came on the way, and when they encountered volunteer first aiders, they led them to the injured position.

Meng Xudao, from 1:15 to 17 AM, more than 20 riot police appeared. Several of them came forward and asked with a bad attitude: "What is it? Do you want to do it?" He shouted, "Save people first!" He pointed out that he did not see the police officer having physical contact with anyone, or chasing anyone, and added that he did not dare to film because the police officer showed up, and only raised the plane after the police officer left.

The video taken by Meng showed that the volunteer first responder measured Zi Le’s pulse as 44 at 1:26.

There was a voice saying that there were ambulancemen on the ground, but another person said that the group of ambulancemen was responsible for another incident.

Someone asked, "Could you ask Qu Yan to do this first?" Then many people shouted, "That's right!" The ambulanceman finally reached the injured position with a stretcher bed at 1:29.

The male neighbour said he did not want to participate in the investigation

According to Meng, he did not know the middle-aged male neighbour where his colleagues checked the injured. He once met him after leaving the parking lot that night, and the other party was emotional.

The inquiry director asked Mongolia if he could contact other people present.

Meng responded that he encountered another middle-aged man who appeared in the parking lot afterwards, but the other party said, "I don't really want to participate in the investigation." He wanted to understand the other party's intentions first.

Magistrate Gao Weixiong expressed the hope that more people would provide information, but there is nothing if the other party is unwilling.

Zhou Zile’s father, Zhou Deming, once again appealed outside the courtroom. If anyone knows the situation that night, please provide information and contact him or the court.

Zhou's father then called on the neighbours to provide information

Zi Le’s father, Zhou Deming, once again appealed to the neighbourhood to contact him or the court outside the court. He also mentioned that the video showed two men speeding up when they reached the parking lot on the Fukang Garden flyover. They seemed to see something suddenly; there was another man in black shirt at 1 am At 3:3, he appeared next to the lift, very close to the place where Zi Le happened; I hope the other party "will gather the courage and come out with a helper to find out the truth."

And Meng Weijie, who took the initiative to find Zhou's father through WhatsApp, after giving evidence, revealed that he had provided photos and videos to several media organizations after the incident.

He did not contact the police, nor received any notice from the police, explaining: "Wakejing is trying to return the injured to the housing and enterprises." He also said that he had tried to find Zi Le's family but failed.

Zhou's father said he changed his mind to appear in court

Meng Xu said that due to the poor social atmosphere and the different risks of going to court, he originally had no intention of going to court.

However, he found that he was "fate" with the injured. In addition to being with Zi Le for a while, the two also had their birthdays on the same day. After communicating with Zhou's father, he also changed his mind. Originally, he only wanted to explain to Zhou's father. Testify in court.

He pointed out that Zhou's father had stated: "For things, it is not about politics." He said that he saw the other party so neutral, and he maintained his ideas.

I believe Father Zhou only wants to understand the incident

Meng hopes to arrive earlier and notify the fire-fighting neighbours to contact Zhou's father directly.

He frankly said: "It is a lot of pressure to talk about sensitive topics in sensitive times." He also understands that he will be worried about affecting his family, so he himself is willing to accompany those who are interested in providing new information to meet with Zi Le's family.

Meng added that he believed that Zhou's father would not be forced to appear in court, he just wanted to understand the incident.

The Coroner's Court will call firefighters to give evidence tomorrow.
