The Russian Investigation Committee announced today that the head of the Russian Interior Ministry branch of the Kizlyar region in Dagestan has been arrested and charged in a criminal case related to the terrorist attacks that targeted the Moscow metro in 2010.
Sputnik news agency quoted the representative of the committee, Svetlana Petrenko, as saying that "the Main Directorate of Investigations of the Investigation Committee, in cooperation with the Russian Federal Security Service, has detained Colonel Ghazi Isayev in the framework of the criminal case related to terrorist acts committed on March 29, 2010 at Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations in the Moscow metro." .
According to the investigation, ISAF was a member of the criminal organization of the Caucasus Emirate between 2009-2010 and used his position to provide information to its leaders about the activities of the Ministry of Interior and special operations against illegal armed groups.
Petrenko said that the ISIV several times transported leaders of criminal organization units across the territory of the Republic of Dagestan and personally drove one of the suicide bombers to the bus station in the Kizlyar region to leave for Moscow with the aim of committing the terrorist act.
About 39 people were killed and more than 100 others wounded in two terrorist attacks on the Moscow metro in 2010.
