Adoptive parents often hear stories about the children of strangers as their own. The heroes behind these beautiful things are often unnamed foster parents.

Not only do they temporarily assume the responsibilities of parents when the biological parents of foster children are unable to take care of them, they also provide a warm home for these helpless children during the period when the biological parents of some children give up custody and during the period when the children are matched with adoptive parents.

Having been a foster parent for 22 years, Peng Sheng Pengtai has taken care of more than 40 children. Among them, one of the girls who was most impressed was a girl with hare lips.

When she was brought home, she was only a one-month-old baby girl. When she was 5 years old, she had to be sent off to the adoptive family in the United States. Every bit of taking care of her was a precious memory of the family.

Peng Sheng Peng Tai lamented that when she left her, "it was like marrying a daughter," and she would never forget that "daughter" once said: "I will come back to you in the future."

Although I am getting older, I hope that "whatever you can do is just as hard as you can", and I hope that more families will join in providing services for children in need, "opening your home will allow these children to have a relationship between housing and business."

Sending young children to school, seeing the leaflet, determined to embark on the road of foster parents

Twenty-two years ago, when Mrs. Peng sent a 3-year-old child to kindergarten school, she accidentally saw a leaflet of foster family. After returning home to discuss with her husband, the two began to serve as foster parents.

Over the years, the family has taken care of more than 40 children and has helped 4 children reunite with their adoptive parents in the United States and Hong Kong.

At first, the two only provided emergency foster care services, but in the past 10 years, they have switched to constant care.

Mrs. Peng recalled that the child she cared for for the first time was only 3 years old, because the child's mother could not come to Hong Kong to take care of her in the Mainland.

When they learned that they were going to take care of her, the husband and wife were very nervous and almost waited for them. They prepared a lot of food and toys, hoping that the little girl could live comfortably. "When I left for 2 months, I went to Po Liangju. Actually I would be reluctant to bear it, but I am mentally prepared."

Be mentally prepared that foster children will leave

Until the number of children taken care of is countless, some stay with each other for a few months and some for several years. Mrs. Peng Sheng, Mrs. Peng said, that these foster children will leave when they are mentally prepared, especially if they find a better destination, they will be truly happy for them. But occasionally I still feel reluctant.

Caring for a girl with rabbit lips for 5 years to sleep in a blanket, leading to physical therapy

Among all the children who have been taken care of, there is a girl with cleft lip and palate (commonly known as harelip) that most concerns the family.

She was fostered in Peng Sheng’s home for one month after she was born, and she didn’t leave until she was 5 years old when she went to the home of her adoptive parents in the United States. She also underwent two harelip correction operations... the family spent a lot of time and energy on her. When he left, he seemed to marry a daughter."

Mrs. Peng said that when she first learned that a hare-lipped girl needed care by a foster family in the hospital, she hesitated and worried that she was inexperienced and could hardly take care of the child in this condition. The only thing her son said, "If you don't pick her, no one will pick her "Ling, Mrs. Peng took her back to her home. "B was almost driven out of the hospital."

Girl needs to be hospitalized for surgery, the family has to rush to the hospital for care

However, it is not easy to take care of her. Mrs. Peng said that she needs to find a special bottle for her to eat smoothly.

When she was 2, and 3 years old, she needed an operation at the Queen Mary Hospital to solve the problem of hare lips. At that time, Mrs. Peng had to not only take care of everything at home, but also rush to the hospital to take care of her.

Although it is hard to talk about, Mrs. Peng always has eyes full of love when she talks about it. She said that when this kid sleeps at night, she must lie in her arms and sleep with her arm. "Sometimes the whole arm is I'm paralyzed and need to see physical therapy."

U.S. family adopts a smooth transition through psychotherapy

It was not until the girl was 4 years old that she found an American family willing to adopt her. Mrs. Peng Sheng and Mrs. Peng felt that this was a better choice, but worried that her insecure "daughter" would be unacceptable.

In preparing her to go to the United States for a year, Mrs. Peng would take her "daughter" to see a psychologist every week, hoping that she would accept this from her heart. This also made the family transition very smooth.

Before leaving, Mrs. Peng said that she had asked the "daughter" if she would resent her. Who knew that the "daughter" would say clearly, "I'm not going to fuck you, I will come back to chase you in the future."

On the eve of the farewell, the family prepared many things for the "daughter" to take away, and even got overweight luggage.

And this 5-year-old "daughter" even gave her toys and clothing to members of the family as gifts, while Mrs. Peng was assigned the "daughter"'s most beloved paparazzi toy. "Like a doppelgänger, she left. At that time, my eldest son was very uncomfortable, so many children came and went, but this one was the most acceptable. When he left, it was like marrying a daughter."

Peng Sheng and Peng Tai are now approaching old age, but they said that they would continue to serve as foster parents. The plan is to ensure that they can no longer take care of the children.

Helping children instead of parents, calling for more families to join

In a blink of an eye, the two have reached old age, but the husband and wife said they would "do as much as possible."

Why are they so obsessed with this matter? Mrs. Peng Sheng, Mrs. Peng, said that they are not parents who help their children, but rather hope to help children who lack care. "If there is no family, we are better than I love him. Actually, he It's so simple, it just needs a pair of arms to embrace it."

Having been a foster parent for so many years, Mrs. Peng Sheng and Mrs. Peng have not travelled in about 8 years because of the fact that she can't let go of her foster children.

They said that they hope that more families can join their ranks, "opening your home will allow these children to have a relationship between housing and business."
