Hardly any other industry has been harder hit by the crisis than the catering industry.

The second lockdown should mean the end for many companies.

The operators appeal accordingly emotionally in a fire letter to the Federal Chancellor and the Prime Ministers of the federal states.

The accusation has it all: the politicians are full-bodied announcing aid, but wait with the payout to save money until it is too late for many.

Two million jobs are at stake.

Patrick Junge (43) sees it differently.

Hospitality was practically born in the cradle.

He is the great-grandson of the founder of the Junge bakery with around 175 branches in northern Germany.

He sold his shares a few years ago to set up his own business.

Today he is the owner and head of the burger chain Peter Pane and operates 40 restaurants all over Germany, mainly in the larger cities.

Junge is one of the largest restaurateurs in the country.

And one thing seems clear: structural change will be massive.
