Dult
, at which Schmidt operates a tent, was not allowed to take place, the restaurateur set up a
Dult drive-in
.
Around 600 cars drove through Schmidt's Dult tent every day, enjoying the white and blue attitude to life with roast chicken, sausages, cheese and beer.
The idea also attracted
international attention.
The New York Times, US News and Forbes Magazine reported on how the people in Bavaria do not let the corona virus rob them of their joie de vivre.
The
joy of life
is also the focus of the drive-in Christmas market.
"We hit a sore point with the people again," says Steffi Schmidt, who
is overwhelmed
by the success of the
corona-conform Christmas market

Many German newspapers reported on their action, and television broadcasters turned the door handle into their own hands.

But the most important thing: “The
people are enthusiastic,
”
says
the mother of three happily.
And the visitors come from far away, from Regensburg, Mühldorf and even Bremen.
“The people are sad that nothing is like usual this year. We give them a bit of a Christmassy feeling,” says Steffi Schmidt.
One question arises: What can the people of Dorfen expect at the folk festival next year?
Steffi Schmidt laughs: "We always have crazy ideas, we will definitely come up with something so that the Dorfener Volksfest will be special."
