In the penultimate issue of the year of "PPT Box", Jorge Lanata presented a report on the

wall that Governor Gildo Insfrán erected

in Formosa due to the coronavirus quarantine and that even today has thousands of people stranded.

A few meters from Formosa territory or in multiple places in Argentina, they continue to wait for the delayed authorizations to return home, in some cases with the regret of not having been able to fire dead relatives.

Insfrán, provincial president more than 20 years ago, established last March the

prohibition of entry

of non-residents or of those who had entered before the arrival of the pandemic to the country.

Eight months later, the restrictions continue to affect about 8 thousand people, although last Thursday the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation set a period of fifteen business days for the entry to take place.

"This pandemic exposed

the worst of the Insfrán model

, twenty years ago. The forgetfulness and the subjugation of the rights of the people of Formosa," said Gabriela Neme, a lawyer and councilor.

"

Come in anyway

. I am in charge of suing the State for what it is doing. Come in, because the urgency is for you to be on this side," Neme added.

In addition, he denounced that those who have a favorable sentence are forced to pay for the transfer, swabbing and fourteen days of isolation.

"The rest are told that they will be able to return in March or April 2021."

Some await a positive response

to the side of the road

, in Puerto Eva Perón, in the last meters of Chaco before entering Formosa.

Among pots, boxes and makeshift tents, a young man who

was left without a job in Córdoba was

still unable to return to his province.

He presented the request for admission "several months ago already."

Still no reply.

In addition, he warned about the difficult situation that stranded people will have to face even when their admission is approved.

"We are aware that we have to quarantine, we have to be locked up, but if we have to pay for it, we don't have money," said the young man, meters from the police checkpoint.

He is joined by Zulma López, who is waiting with her granddaughters in Chaco.

His situation is unusual.

She camps a few meters from her home: she is a neighbor of Mansilla, a town located opposite Puerto Eva Perón.

A few meters from that place was where Mauro Ledesma drowned, last October, while trying to swim across the Bermejo.

Meanwhile, many more are still waiting in multiple parts of the country.

One of the

most dramatic cases

is that of Fabio Arias, who studies Programming in Buenos Aires.

He never received authorization to watch his grandfather in Formosa.

"The same happened with a

son of mine

: he was born, I did not get to see him and then he

ended up dying

of unemployment," Arias said.

Petrona Arias is an oncology patient and is stranded at her daughter's house in Buenos Aires.

She wants to be reunited with her husband, Gregorio, 92.

"His state of health is not good at all, every day he cries and says he wants to go home," explains Benita.

And he pleads: "I ask the governor to have compassion for so many people."

Luis Naidenoff, national senator for Formosa, assures that the Supreme Court could have ruled earlier: "The habeas corpus was presented on July 8. There were tragedies and pains along the way that could have been avoided."
