Peace between Israel and Sudan:

A small Israeli delegation left for Sudan this morning (Monday) for a one-day meeting.

The flight was supposed to take place last week, but was postponed to today.

The delegation is headed by "Maoz", a former GSS member who holds a senior position in the National Security Council.

As reported in "Israel Today", the talks are intended to prepare for a visit by a larger delegation that will leave for Sudan in a few weeks.

The delegation took off for Khartoum exactly one month after the expected normalization with Israel was announced on October 23.

Last week, the fruits of the new relationship could begin to be seen, with Sudan on Wednesday supporting an Israeli proposal in the field of innovation that passed in a majority of 144 countries at the UN General Assembly.

The proposal, "Sustainable Development Entrepreneurship", initiated by the Israeli delegation to the United Nations, was opposed by 26 countries, including Iran and Syria. Israel focuses on the steps required from each country to encourage entrepreneurship and assist businesses affected by the spread of the corona plague.

"Passing the resolution is an important achievement for Israel and for any country that sees importance in building a better future for its citizens," Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Ardan, later told the UN Economic Commission.

"The decision focuses on the steps that must be taken so that each country can enjoy the benefits of innovation and building an advanced and egalitarian economy. Despite attempts to sabotage its chances of passing, the decision has been adopted by an overwhelming and unprecedented majority."

The Israeli ambassador later criticized the opposition: "Unfortunately, there are countries that recognize the importance of innovation and yet have decided to oppose. Some of the opposition stems from anti-Semitism and hatred and not for logical reasons, and these countries should be ashamed. ".
