The paraglider fell from "a very great height on a field northeast of the
Hornburg,"
as the police announced.
Based on the statements of the eyewitnesses, the involvement of another aircraft in the accident can be excluded.
It was these eyewitnesses who first
arrived
at the
scene of the accident
, began with first aid measures and notified the Integrated Control Center Allgäu.
The emergency doctor arriving at the scene of the accident had to stop the resuscitation measures, however, to no avail, "because the serious

“SCHWANGAU This afternoon, a 61-year-old from the southern Ostallgäu fell with his paraglider in the area of Tegelberg and suffered fatal injuries.
The man had started with his paraglider at around 12:15 p.m. with good visibility from the pipe head. Shortly before 1 p.m., witnesses on the ground observed how the victim's umbrella collapsed for an unknown reason and he fell from a great height onto a field northeast of the Hornburg. On the basis of these eyewitnesses, it can be ruled out that another aircraft was involved in the accident. It was these eyewitnesses who first arrived at the scene of the accident, began first aid measures and notified the Allgäu integrated control center.
The arriving ambulance finally had to abort the resuscitation measures unsuccessfully, since the serious injuries sustained by the impact were already fatal.
