A 23-year-old man died and several people were injured after a
triple crash and a fight on Route 210
, in the Buenos Aires town of Alejandro Korn, where a boxer and the brother of the mayor of San Vicente,
Nicolás Mantegazza, were involved
.
The incident occurred on Sunday, after 10 p.m., at kilometer 49 of Provincial Route 210 -the continuation of Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue towards the south of the Province-, when, for reasons under investigation, three cars participated in a chain shock.
When the Police arrived at the scene after a 911 call, they found several injured people inside the vehicles, a Chevrolet Corsa, a Chevrolet Onix and a Citroën C4.
In the opposite hand, lying on the asphalt, was the corpse of a young man later identified as
Marcelo Fredes, 23, living in Longchamps
, who "on his waist was carrying a stick similar to the one used to control the pressure of the covers, "reported local media.
According to reports, Fredes was driving the Corsa and was accompanied by his partner, Karen Villan, and their 7-month-old baby, who suffered some injuries but are out of danger.
Apparently, his car was
hit from behind by the Onix of Gustavo Mantegazza, the brother of the
local
communal chief
, who was traveling with a friend identified as Sebastián Maya.
Both were seriously injured and are admitted to the Cuenca de Cañuelas hospital, with a reserved prognosis.
In turn, Mantegazza's car was rammed from behind by the C4, which was driven by
Brian Calla, a boxing instructor
.
On that shoulder there was also a Renault Sandero that belonged to Lucas Altenofer, Fredes' brother-in-law, who did not participate in the accident but also ended up admitted to Cuenca hospital in serious condition, with a skull fracture.
Based on the testimony of some of those involved, the investigators suspect that after the crash a
fight
began
between Fredes and his brother-in-law with Calla
, which ended in the death of the first of them.
Three other men and a woman participated in the discussion and tried to escape from the scene aboard a Volkswagen Fox.
The "wrongful death" case was in the hands of the prosecutor Silvia Bussano, from the San Vicente fiscal assistant, who took five people to take a statement.
