The owner of the equestrian center La Grange, in Beychac-et-Caillau, 30 km west of Bordeaux, herself announced the macabre discovery on social networks.
"
We were unfortunately the victim of acts of cruelty ... (...) Baby Ganja lost his life ... The horses were put in safety, they are under surveillance day and night
", commented the owner from the equestrian center where the mare was boarded.
The owner discovered on Saturday the inert horse, lying on its side: a udder had been cut and "the
entire vulva and anus
" were "
removed, obviously by human intervention with regard to the precision of the cut
", notes the floor.
A veterinarian came to the scene and various urine and blood samples were taken.
"
As it stands, the causes of the death of this mare are unknown: the hypothesis of post-mortem mutilation is favored but no track is excluded, in particular that of poisoning
", adds the prosecution who entrusted the investigations to the gendarmes of the Bouillac research brigade.
In recent months, an unexplained series of mutilations of equines, sometimes fatal, has been observed in some twenty departments of France, leading to the opening of 200 investigations.
The motivations of the authors remain mysterious and all avenues are considered: challenge on the internet, sectarian drifts, mimicry, hatred of equines, satanic rites ...
