The activities of the celebration of Syrian Culture Days under the title “My Culture My Identity” opened today in Homs Governorate, with an exhibition of plastic paintings, drawing workshops, Arabic calligraphy and recycling in the lobby of the Cultural Palace theater, and dancing performances by “Palu and Nirvana” groups at the House of Culture.

In a statement to Sana's correspondent, Saba Wassouf, head of the children and adolescents department of the Homs Culture Directorate, said that the celebration includes many cultural activities and various events, including cinematic shows, theater, drawing workshops, calligraphy, works and a book exhibition, which in her opinion constitutes a real opportunity to show the cultural face of the city and to encourage the creative and talented.

In his turn, plastic artist Ahmed Ramadan Al-Ali, a teacher in the workshop of works and recycling of environmental synthesis, explained that a number of children are being trained in the basics of work in the field of recycling environmental synthesis, pointing to his participation in the exhibition with works made of wood, olive seeds, Ajami paintings, seashells, glass and sand.

The Iraqi plastic artist Fawzi Al-Saadi, a teacher in the Impressionist Painting Workshop, pointed out that the workshop includes about 15 children and girls who have learned today the principles of impressionism on wooden boards and drawing on them in smart colors.

The young woman, Mary Shandia, spoke about her participation in the exhibition with a group of paintings on wood, in which acrylic colors were used, in addition to a segment playing the guitar in the lobby of the exhibition.

Children Khaled Arimish, Maram Awal and Yamna Al-Qayyim, who participated in the drawing workshop, stated that the event enabled them to understand the method of impressionism through specialized professors.

Fine artist Hiyam Awad, who participated in the art exhibition, pointed out that she participated in seven paintings on canvas in oil colors that tell about the homeland, the female and the mother, while the child Abdullah Al-Habal presented 8 paintings in the Arabic calligraphy workshop, in which he embodied mastery and creativity.

Regarding the show presented by the Palo Ballet Troupe, the left-wing organization of the troupe explained that it included 8 dancing panels entitled "Alice in Wonderland", in which 40 children and girls aged from 6 to 15 years participated.

Whereas the dance show presented by the Nirvana Folk Dance and Theater Company was titled “Little Tales”, where the artist Bilal Arafa, the director of the troupe, talked about it that it included 7 dancing panels, two of them from the Levantine heritage and three in the English language, pointing out that most of the dances were directed to children with the aim of drawing joy on Their faces.

Tomorrow, within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, an artistic concert by the Gabala Dance Theater Company will be presented at the Theater of the Culture Directorate, in addition to a visit to a number of archaeological sites.
