Today India successfully launched the supersonic surface-to-surface Pramos missile.
The New Delhi-based Asia International News Agency reported that the missile, which has a range of up to 400 km, was launched from the test site in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, east of the Bay of Bengal, and successfully hit the target.
The Brahmos is a supersonic cruise missile and it is a production of the joint Russian-Indian project developed by the Russian companies (NBO Machinstroeni) and the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRD). The first test launch of the missile was carried out in 2001.
Russia and India are the two largest partners in the field of military-technical cooperation, as the proportion of Russian and Soviet weapons and military equipment in the Indian land, air and naval forces exceeds 70 percent.
