In the series “How are you ..?” We ask people from the district how they experience the unusual Corona times.

Today: Jeannette Stahlberg, chairwoman of the Tölzer cultural association “Lust”.

Bad Tölz -

Together with other active members, Jeannette Stahlberg shouldered the club work that enriches the city's cultural life.

Here, too, the corona virus has mixed up everything.

Ms. Stahlberg, do the corona-related restrictions have an effect on the voluntary work in your cultural association - that is to say: is the desire dwindling?

Since 1984 "Lust" has been actively involved in the cultural scene in Tölz.

We have never had anything like this before!

At the moment everything is in a deep slumber.

But we are always active in the background.

And no: the desire is definitely still there.

How many people are currently involved in your association?

We are 20 active people who take care of everything - from program planning, ticket sales and website support to the organization of the individual events including bar service.

What connects us: We all care deeply about culture.

The members come from a wide variety of professions: We have educators, nurses and self-employed people with us.

I myself work as a beautician here in Tölz and am also a laugh yoga trainer.

That should be an advantage in the case of muddled discussions in the club: Just a round of laugh yoga to relax ...?

(Stahlberg laughs) Yes, we really are a very humorous group.

What is left of the 2020 event program, what had to be canceled?

Our series of events, which ran until March, was called “Local Heroes” and was very successful.

The lockdown came exactly one day before the premiere of the new Lust play.

And from then on there is nothing left of our annual program.

It is not even possible to name individual things that we were particularly sorry about.

It was just a shame about every single event that had to be canceled.

Because they are all always planned very carefully and with a lot of passion.

Actually, we wanted to start again in November at a reduced rate, with 30 to 35 spectators instead of the possible 89. We had developed a hygiene concept for this - and then the new lockdown thwarted our plans again.

Did you also receive encouragement during the crisis?

Time and again people approached us on the street and asked us how things were going from now on.

The city offered us an event in the Kurhaus in autumn because our space in the old school is very limited.

But that could no longer take place because of the second lockdown.

How do you rate the state support for your cultural work?

Every year we receive cultural funding from the district.

That flow also for 2020.

We have not yet submitted any further requests for support.

What are the plans for 2021?

Our new program is called “Stringsweise” and will soon be available on our website.

Right now we are planning as if anything could happen.

What else can we do?

However, it is questionable whether our carnival event can increase.

The appointments with Gerd Baumann and Marcus H. Rosenmüller, who read, sing and play from their poetry book, as well as with Stefan Murr and Heinz-Josef Braun, who present their children's program with a new CD "The Bavarian Robin Hood" are firmly planned.

In your opinion, will the audience return to the cultural sites despite a longer cultural break?

Our audience will come back hungrier than ever.

The live experience of being closer and having a direct exchange with the actors - that cannot be replaced by streaming.

Have you personally considered turning your back on the culture crisis?

Never ever!

Culture simply cannot be missing in our society.

What we have now is just a temporary dormant state.

And what is the current mood in the group?

We are well connected and we keep ourselves in the mood with a funny WhatsApp group.

And we all hope that we can get started again next year.

In order to keep the audience happy, we will soon release the recording of our three Leonhardi evenings from 2019.

It should be a consolation for the audience as well as bring in donations for the club.

We will tell you where you can buy the film as soon as possible.
