The Secretary for Food and Health, Chen Zhaoshi, said at a press conference that the epidemic situation in Hong Kong has changed drastically in recent days. Indoor group gatherings have led to a major outbreak. More than 130 cases have been confirmed. The source of more than one case is unknown in several days. Nearly one third of the cases have no symptoms. There are multiple transmission chains in the community.
She said that it is necessary to immediately tighten epidemic prevention measures and reduce the three "C" activities, including closed, crowded, and close contact activities without masks.
Chen Zhaoshi announced the following latest social distancing measures, which will take effect from 0:00 this Thursday (26th) to December 2 (next Wednesday) for a period of 7 days.
-Bars, bathrooms, party rooms, nightclubs and other premises must be closed, live performances and dancing are prohibited.
-There is a maximum of 10 tables for catering and banquets, one table for a maximum of 4 people, including hotels and clubs.
-Hotels must set a maximum number of people in guest rooms, separate quarantine and non-quarantine rooms, and ensure that quarantine persons cannot leave the room during isolation and cannot accept visits.
-Live performances and dancing are prohibited in nightclubs and nightclubs.
-No more than 4 people in a restaurant, no eating or drinking during toasting activities, and wearing masks.
