Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova warned that “the situation regarding the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Russia is deteriorating in light of the autumn-winter season in which epidemics spread,” noting that the Russian authorities intend to start voluntary vaccination against the virus next year.
Gulikova pointed out that "since the moment the (Sputnik V) vaccine was registered, more than 117 thousand doses of the vaccine have been released in local circulation, and the producers plan to produce more than two million doses by the end of the year, as priority has now been given to vaccinating vulnerable groups, doctors and teachers.
The Russian Sputnik vaccine is the first recorded vaccine in the world against the emerging corona virus, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund concerned with its production and distribution has previously confirmed that the tests have proven its effectiveness by 92 percent.
The vaccine developers also announced last week that the price of (Sputnik V) will be much lower than the price of vaccines developed by the American pharmaceutical companies (Moderna) and (Pfizer).
