The Ministry of Culture has chosen the able artist Thana Debsi to be one of the honorees within the celebration of the Syrian Cultural Days, in appreciation of her artistic career rich in dozens of theatrical, cinematic and television works in a march dating back to the mid-1950s.
Dabsi began her journey with the art of acting as a young girl at school parties in her city, Aleppo, where she learned dancing grace, singing muwashahat, quddud and acting, and then moved to participate in artistic activities organized by the Popular Theater Club troupe in Aleppo and she was trained by the late musician Bahjat Hassan, which helped her develop skills Diction, in addition to her fondness for reading books, especially in theater and psychology, which helped her in analyzing the characters that she relied on.
And because acting on stage has its charm from the beginning, during the one theatrical season, she participated in at least three acts because it is based on the interaction between the artist and the viewer, and it is recorded that she was one of the first actors who contributed to the launch of the national theater in Syria in the early sixties and presented many performances, including heroes Our country and school scandals.
Her compassionate character imposed on the directors of the drama to frame her within the framework of the compassionate mother, while she sought change, as she prefers to perform different roles, especially with the comic characters that appeal to her. Debsi also considers that the text plays the main role in the work and that selectivity is important for the artist to maintain the level of his artistic history.
Debsi's march with drama is full of many roles that have been entrenched in the memory of the viewers, such as Harat al-Qasr, Harun al-Rashid, Shajarat al-Durr, and the second story from the biography of Bani Hilal the Green Princess, the wolves, Abu Kamel, Green Hearts, Bab al-Hadid, the biography of the Jalali family, the rainbow 2, the four seasons, letters of love and war, and the interpreter of longings.
Debsi, whose acting performance was characterized by a strong identification with the psychological state of the personality and disciplined emotion, she participated in three of the films produced by the General Film Organization, namely, The Deceived, the Lajat, and A Little Time
The artist, Debsi, is satisfied with her artistic experience and is happy to remember her works, and she is still attracted to the theater after all these years to stand again on its stage.
