This morning (Tuesday) the evidentiary phase of the rape case in the Red Sea Hotel in Eilat will open in the District Court, where 11 men are accused of brutally raping a 16-year-old girl. Among the defendants, three adults and eight boys.

The indictment attributes to four of them - Ilizir Mairov (27), Issy Rafailov (28) and two twin brothers aged 17 from the south - aggravated rape offenses.

The rest are charged with aiding and abetting rape and indecent acts.

The indictment states that the four committed the rape in a room at the "Red Sea" hotel in Eilat, while taking advantage of the situation of the girl, who was out of control.

The other defendants - Osher Shlomo, 19, from Moshav Noga and six other boys - each committed offenses of aiding and abetting rape, indecent acts and failure to prevent a crime.

They are accused of "treating the complainant as an object, as a tool to satisfy their passions and none of the defendants tried to stop what was happening and provide the minor with any assistance."

According to the indictment, the complainant came to Eilat with her two friends, when on August 12 they arrived with acquaintances at the pool at the Red Sea Hotel, where they met the main defendants - Meirov and Rafalov and Rafilov who knew the 16-year-old offered to go out with him, but the minor refused.

It was also written that after the hotel pool was closed, the complainant and her friends went up to the acquaintances' room who were staying at the hotel, where they drank a large amount of alcohol.

At around 19:00, the defendants from Irov and Raphaelov invaded a vacant room on the same floor, without registering at the hotel reception or paying for the stay in the room.

At some point, the minor and her friend left the room, and Rafialov approached her and offered to help her, as he had, he claimed, been trained in first aid.

He led her to the room where the two rapists invaded and then, Rafaelov, Meirov and the brothers from the south committed the offenses attributed to them, for a long time, "cruelly, while losing a human photographer, and with demonstrable disregard for her plight," the indictment said.

Raphaelov even documented what was happening using his mobile phone and later sent the video to Mayrov, according to the indictment.

"Cruelty and Loss of a Human Photographer."

Two days later, the girl arrived at the Ashkelon police station in the evening, filed a complaint and testified before the station's investigators about her past.

The investigators immediately turned to investigators at the Eilat station, and began collecting preliminary findings, which resulted from the testimony of the two girls.

The day after the complaint was filed, Lachish Area Commander Lt. Gen. Ronen Avnieli ruled that the case would be conducted at the Ashkelon station, because some of those involved are residents of the area.

He set up a special investigation team, which includes experienced investigators, youth researchers and technologists - and ordered them to go down to Eilat and collect testimonies and evidence from the hotel, including the documentation from the security cameras.

On the same day the investigators send the documentation for testing, and the investigation team began working to identify the participants accordingly.

Two days later, on August 18, Raphaelov was arrested in Hadera on suspicion of rape.

The interrogation team arrived at his home and led him to the interrogation, in which Toma was arrested.

The next day, the affair was exposed in the media and provoked a public outcry and protests across the country.

In the ten days that followed, the other suspects in the affair were arrested - about 17 in total.

On September 2, an indictment was filed against 11 of the suspects.

Four of them are charged with aggravated rape, and the rest - with each committing offenses of aiding and abetting rape, indecent acts and failure to prevent a crime.
