The municipality of Forstern wants to redesign the through-town.
To do this, it relies on funds from urban development funding.
A total of 140,000 euros will be requested from the government of Upper Bavaria for the coming year.

- Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) explained in the municipal council that the municipality must always think about the measures in December that it wants to tackle next year.
The financial framework, which is virtually reserved for Forstern, is determined.
The urban integration of the main street is planned for 2021.
"Our vision was to start with just this one measure," explained Streu, reminding: "The council has already decided that, we would like to get started in 2021."
After the government pointed out that this was not enough, city planner Jochen Gronle von Plankreis recommended that the area around the village pond should also be included.
This area, which is important for the townscape, needs a new design, among other things, a quality of stay should be created here.
In addition, the need for a public toilet facility is to be covered.
First considerations should be made.
Furthermore, the government advised in-depth studies of the retail trade in the form of an integrated urban development concept (ISEK).
"All other measures are being pushed back," explained Streu - for example the conversion of the old town hall into a cultural center.
Streu went on to explain that the community had to do the needs assessment, "so that money can be parked for us with the government," as he put it.

Last year, the sum of these "parked funds" was much higher at 420,000 euros, but none of it was needed this year.
Managing Director Wolfgang Donig therefore stated: "I find it important and honest that you only take on what is realistic - and then implement it."
Maria Feckl (Greens) saw the footpath by the war memorial as a further focus next to the state road.
Streu threw in the room whether you absolutely need an urban planning concept for this, or whether you could simply upgrade this area temporarily yourself.
The municipal council decided to apply for inclusion in the urban development program in 2021.
The registered costs of the proposed projects are around 140,000 euros.

With the technical advisory support of the Munich office Plankreis, possible redesign potentials are to be shown and discussed with administration, politics and citizens with the tender for an urban planning framework for the public space.

The required contribution should be made available in the municipality's budget - according to Streu, this is 40 percent of the costs.
