The AWO nursing home in Ismaning is again under quarantine after 34 residents and employees were infected.

Two other workers' dormitories in the district are also affected.

Ismaning / Unterhaching

- The situation in the AWO nursing home in Ismaning is serious again.

As in March, the Bürgerstift has been fighting the corona virus again since last week.

34 residents and employees are infected.

All seniors are in quarantine and must stay in their rooms where they eat their food.

Visiting is prohibited in the living areas concerned.

The press spokeswoman for the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Oberbayern has no answer as to how the entry could come about again.

Linda Quadflig-Kraft protects the employees on site.

"The hygiene concept was fully adhered to and is regularly supplemented by series tests of residents and staff."

Next row test planned

Infected employees were sent home, are in quarantine and have been replaced by AWO employees from the district association.

The Awo announced that the staff was increased and medical care intensified.

The healthy employees are “highly motivated”, says the spokeswoman: “They offer additional help, for example they want to voluntarily postpone vacation.” The next series test in the community center is planned for Friday.

Other old people's homes are affected, a total of 50 residents in six homes in the district tested positive yesterday and 36 employees in nine facilities.

80 workers in the dormitory have to stay in the house

In order to keep the development in Ismaning under control, the workers' accommodation "Hostello" Am Lenzenfleck 3 is also under quarantine.

80 residents have to stay in the house since Thursday evening.

The health department enforced this before a series test showed a clear result.

Here workers live in four-bed rooms and use common rooms.

"When I have such narrow spaces, I have a greater duty of care," says Ismaning's Mayor Alexander Greulich.

Because there were already several infections among residents and neither employers nor landlords could be reached to coordinate the hygiene measures, Greulich urged that all residents be quarantined in order to reduce the risk.

"We had to exert increased pressure from all sides because we had to prevent people who are at risk from going to the nearby supply markets, which are also heavily frequented by the population." As a precautionary measure, the house has been quarantined on Thursday.

Yesterday afternoon the mobile test center carried out a series test.

The results are still pending.

In contrast, 24 residents tested positive in a workers' accommodation in Unterhaching.

120 first-degree contact persons are quarantined.

The hostel at Ottobrunner Straße 26, in the former Develey building, which is mainly used as workers' accommodation, is closed.

The 120 workers from different European countries have to stay in their rooms for 14 days.

They are provided for by their employers.

The 24 workers who tested positive were relocated: The district office looks after them in an accommodation on Biberger Straße in Unterhaching, which was built as an asylum accommodation.

Emergency brake pulled

Two infected workers with the same address - this message triggered an alarm in the Corona management of the Unterhaching community last week.

The district's mobile test center was called and carried out a series of tests in "Otto 26".

The conclusion: 24 of the 150 residents were infected.

"That really terrified us," says town hall spokesman Simon Hötzl.

“We were able to pull the emergency brake in good time and bring the eruption under control.” Another serial test will be carried out in the property on Ottobrunner Strasse this week.
