Within the activities of the Syrian Culture Days, the Ministry of Culture (the Syrian General Book Organization) honored the winners of the first three places for its literary and artistic competition prizes for the year 2020.

And the poet Ibrahim Mansour won the first place in the Omar Abu Risha prize for his poem Sirair al-Ashq, while the second prize was won by Firas Meithawi for his poem The Damascene Hymn and Ghadeer Ismail won the third for his poem unless it was recorded in the affiliation record, while the award secretariat noted the poems of Hadeel Watan by Ismail Rakab and Khawla by Sami Solomon and dance to the other side of the glory of Abraham.

As for the Hanna Minh Prize for the Novel, Rasheeq Suleiman won first place for his novel Kharif al-Olafla, the second by Gerges Hourani for his novel Bastet, and the third Buran Arbash for her novel, The Traffic of Love, while the secretariat of the award cited novels such as rain of color or more by Samir Abu Ghazi, papers of al-Harbi by Ali al-Mazal and water mirrors by Nasir Mohsen.

The first place was won by the Sami Al-Droubi Award for Translation, the translator, Dr. Muhammad Arab Saila, for his work in the state of law and politics, and the second prize went to the translator, Dr. Nizar Issa, for his oriental work, and the third was won equally by the translators Dr. Adnan Hassan for his work on political economy and Chantal Gerges for her work Copidon with wings of cardboard.

In the short story prize directed at the child, Iman Bazarbashi won the first place for the butterfly story, the second went to Daoud Al-Freij for the football dream story, and the third went to Muhammad Qashmar for the new covid story.

In the prize for the painting directed at the child, Najla Al-Dayeh came first, Marah Ta'amri second, and Aya Hammoud third.

Writer Rashid Ezz El-Din, winner of the first place in the novel competition, expressed his happiness with this award because its name is linked to a great writer, noting the competition that contributes to presenting young and capable talents.

Poet Ghadeer Ismail, winner of the third place in the Omar Abu Risha Prize, spoke about his winning poem, which is on the lips of the martyr after he went to his final resting place as he sends his messages to his family and friends, indicating that this award, like similar ones, constitutes a moral boost to the poet.

The translator, Chantal Gerges, winner of the third place in the translation award, indicated that she presented a novel full of love that took more than six months to transfer to Arabic in a smooth and clear manner, describing her winning this award as an important milestone in her life.

Najla Al-Dayeh, who won the prize for the painting directed at the child, expressed her happiness at winning, especially since it is in the field of childhood, which means innocence and joy.

Storyteller Iman Bazarbashi, who won first place in the Children's Story Award, pointed to the importance of this award, which she considers an important start in the field of writing for the children's world.

The winners in the first three places received certificates of appreciation and material prizes, in the presence of a crowd of thinkers and intellectuals.
