The crash of the Air Force training plane leaves many questions as to the development that preceded the fatal accident, in which a major-level instructor and trainee in the Air Force flight schools were killed.

The initial investigation revealed that Air Force officials reported to the Air Force at a base from which the crew took off that an aircraft crashed in the area between Moshav Tidhar and Gilat Junction in the Negev, but the Corps initially rejected the report.

According to the initial investigation, the incident caught the Air Force's attention only after An accurate report by a civilian helicopter pilot circling the crash site that a burning aircraft and black smoke was rising from the ground, so the control tower and control unit at Hatzerim base tried to get on the communications network with the pilot and trainee, and when no response was received the Air Force realized something unusual was happening. Further tests, and the plane, the Swallow sample, is not visible on the radar.

Police, firefighters, MDA, ZAKA and the 669th Rescue Unit, which landed in the area with a Yasur helicopter, were then rushed to the scene.

According to IDF sources, the corps did not receive a report or incident from the pilot and trainee that could indicate the reasons for the crash. Due to the complex circumstances, the Air Force commander, Major General Amikam Nurkin, today appointed an expert committee in collaboration with Elbit. In the present case the cadet was on his 15th flight.
