All the better since before the pandemic, teleworking was more developed in the United Kingdom than in many other countries in Europe, with the exception of the Netherlands and the Nordic countries.
As everywhere on the continent, the outbreak of the virus has made teleworking jump.
According to various studies, between 50 and 60% of British employees have worked from home since the first lockdown in March and until today.
Figures that differ according to the activities: if we come to white collar workers, we reach a rate of 80%.
The British peculiarity lies elsewhere.
Before the coronavirus hit, telecommuting had grown a lot in the UK over the past decade.
