The 16-year-old defendant was convicted earlier of assaulting a police officer, alleging that he assaulted Police Constable Tsang Wai Keung on Yi Tai Street, Chai Wan on November 3 last year.

Young people may not be exempt from imprisonment

At the time of sentence, Guan Cui stated that although the defendant’s background report and social service order report were positive, the defendant insisted in the report that he did not know whether he had been pushed to the police officer. Guan Cui also pointed out that the charge in this case was serious. Even though the offender was young, the court might not include imprisonment-style punishment, so he finally sentenced the defendant to 3 weeks in prison.

Quasi-10,000 yuan bail pending appeal

The defense immediately applied for bail and waited for the appeal. After hearing the words, Cui Guan bluntly said that he did not believe that the defense had any basis for appeal in this case, but finally decided to approve the defendant to go out on bail of 10,000 yuan.
