The Higher Education Council has issued admission rules for applying to the open education comparison for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The council stipulated in a decision that SANA received a copy of it today to accept students who hold the Syrian high school diploma or its equivalent that at least two years have passed since the student obtained a high school diploma and that he has obtained the general or vocational certificate required to register in the program.

The decision indicated the necessity for the student to fulfill the mark requirement in some high school diploma subjects according to the following: 70% in the English language subject for those wishing to apply to the English language translation program comparison and 65% in the French language subject for those wishing to apply to the French translation program comparison to The differential language should be consistent with the specialization, 70% in the Arabic language subject and 65% in the foreign language subject “English or French” for those who wish to apply for the media comparison program.

According to the decision, vocational secondary schools issued by the public authorities in Syria or its equivalent are accepted according to the conditions stipulated in the assimilation decision. Admission to the open education system is also accepted without considering the total of the student in the high school diploma.

As for students with special needs, no more than 5 students are accepted in each specialty in open education programs in public universities, and the type and percentage of disability is determined according to the principles adopted in the general comparison.

According to the decision, no more than 15 students are accepted in every major in open education programs in public universities, including students, sons, brothers, and spouses of martyrs, and those injured in total or partial disability, and those injured by disability, at a rate of not less than 30 percent and not more than 35 percent of the conscripted and reserve soldiers, in addition to the children of the wounded Total and partial disability of not less than 70 percent, the children of the missing, their spouses, and those who were injured while fighting under the command of the Syrian Arab Army, with a disability of at least 40 percent.
