The symposium held by the Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh entitled “The Role of Culture in Crises” was attended by researchers Al-Arqam Al-Zoubi, Eid Al-Darwish and Nabil Nofal, and included an explanation of the meaning of culture and how culture deals with crises and ways to confront plots.

The researcher Al-Darwish pointed out during the symposium that culture and consciousness are two terms overlapping to the point of identification. There is no culture without awareness or awareness without culture, as they form the two main pillars in the process of peoples' development and start from the individual because it is the main component of the states of awareness and culture, explaining that with the absence of culture and awareness, society is exposed to setbacks. With culture, societies go the right way.

The researcher Nawfal believes that it is wrong to address crises in an improvised manner, so there must be studied, conscious and cultural methods that play an effective role in solving crises of all kinds, indicating that crises need a culture of management and community awareness in all humanitarian fields to avoid a breakdown in the balance and protect the interests of society from any symptom.

The researcher Al-Zoubi said in his axis that the duties of the intellectual and his primary role is to stand by the nation as an entity, borders and existence, as he is concerned with fighting any crisis resulting from a conspiracy against the homeland, indicating that culture is thought and wealth within society.

With his intervention, Dr. Muhammad Qajian, Director of the Syrian-Iranian People’s Relations Project, pointed out that there are common denominators in the social culture between Iran and Syria and in the crisis management system and facing plots and plans of others conspirators.

Rabab Ahmed, President of the Cultural Center concluded the symposium, saying that the role of culture is important in facing wars and crises, and this is what Syria has done during the most dangerous conspiracy and the bearing of its society on various levels.

Researchers Najla Al-Khadra, Muhammad Samer Moayad and others presented interventions to enrich the themes of the symposium.
