When handling a complaint in Tin Lok Lane early this morning (25th), officers of the Wan Chai Police District discovered that two party rooms at the above address were still open. There were 14 people and 10 people gathered for recreation, suspected of violating the "Prevention and Control of Disease (" Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Chapter 599G).
The officers immediately issued fixed penalty notices to 24 people.
The officers also prosecuted the persons in charge of the two party rooms mentioned above for violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Premises) Regulations (Chapter 599F).
The police urged the public to consider themselves and others, minimize social activities and avoid crowded places.
The police will continue to step up inspections to ensure that the catering business premises strictly comply with the requirements of the relevant regulations, and will decisively take enforcement actions against offenders to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus in the community.
The government gazetted party rooms and banned dancing performances in nightclubs for 5 days
The government announced on November 21 that the instructions and specifications under the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Requirements and Instructions) (Business and Premises) Regulations (Chapter 599F) will be gazetted to further tighten social distancing measures, including bars , Nightclubs and nightclubs cannot be used for performances and dancing; party rooms must be closed.
The relevant measures will take effect from 0:00 on November 22nd to November 26th within 5 days.
Details of the tightening measures are as follows:
(1) Live performances and dancing activities are not allowed in catering premises (including bars or pubs) and nightclubs or nightclubs.
(2) All premises set up (or proposed to be set up) for renting social gatherings (generally called party rooms) must be closed.
