Within the activities of the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, opened today in the Martyr Basil Al-Assad University City in Damascus a comprehensive exhibition of the publications of the Syrian General Book Organization, which included more than four thousand books with 700 titles and at nominal prices.

The exhibition continues until the thirtieth of this month and comes according to the dreams of the Turk, Director of Exhibitions, Marketing and Sales at the Syrian General Book Authority as part of the series of exhibitions held by the Ministry of Culture in various governorates within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days held under the title “My Culture ... My Identity” on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the Ministry .

In a statement to SANA, Al-Turk pointed out that the exhibition includes a wide range of cultural titles that meet the student's need in terms of their content and attractive discounts of up to 60 percent, with the exception of books for chains, indicating that the existing publications include literary, political and strategic studies, local, Arab and international novels, collections of stories, poetry, and philosophical and psychological research. In addition to a wide variety of publications in the fields of science, economics, archeology, cinema, music, plastic life, science fiction literature, creators, media, folklore magazines, knowledge and children.

Samher Aziz, head of the National Union of Syrian Students at Damascus University, said that the exhibition is an opportunity for students to learn about various political, intellectual, literary and scientific topics and said: We seek to make this exhibition permanent within the university city through the cooperation of the Students' Union with the Ministry of Culture in accordance with what was stipulated in the signed memorandum of understanding. Recently, between the two sides, which aims to consecrate culture among the Syrian university youth, unleash their creativity, and promote the values ​​of belonging and citizenship, which contributes to building a strong, vibrant national society.

A number of students visiting the exhibition expressed their admiration for the available publications and books, as both Marah Al-Karim and Al-Ataka, Ahmed Ali from the Faculty of Human Medicine at the University of Damascus confirmed the necessity of holding such exhibitions in order to secure what students need, each within his specialization, at reasonable prices, while the student Bashar Shuaib from the College of Medicine indicated He also pointed to the importance of political studies and novels in the exhibition, considering that the exhibition is a good and useful initiative for students.

From the Faculty of Law, the student Maram Mohsen, in a second year, saw that the exhibition is an important step to encourage students to read and enhance their culture with various types of knowledge, creativity and literature, as well as an opportunity to exchange ideas and cultures among students who meet in such exhibitions.

The activities of the Syrian Culture Days were launched yesterday at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus and include more than 90 various activities in the artistic, cinematic, theatrical, intellectual and heritage fields, and will continue until next Thursday in various governorates.
