Today, the Al-Assad National Library held an exhibition of scientific manuscripts in the exhibition hall, which included 100 manuscripts that the library maintains in its rich and rare archive, as part of the celebration of the Syrian Cultural Days.
Regarding the exhibition, Dr. Labana Mashouh, Minister of Culture, said in a statement to reporters: “This event is of a very high level of scientific and material value. In the Al-Assad Library there is a very large number of historical manuscripts, some of which date back to the year 1200 AD and others date back to different periods of history and this is evidence. However, the Arab mind did not stop giving scientific and civilization to motivate us not to stop intellectual and scientific production because we are a living people.
In his turn, Iyad Murshid, Director of the Al-Assad National Library, said, “This year we presented various scientific manuscripts in the sciences of medicine, engineering, pharmacology, astronomy, botany, and other manuscripts preserved in the library to emphasize the richness and diversity of Arab heritage so that the new generation informs the new generation of the scientific achievement of Arabs in high-level history in addition to literary production. “.
Morshed explained that the Al-Assad library shares an integrative relationship with the rest of the ministry's institutions within the celebration of the days of Syrian culture, which today is experiencing a state of renewal and reliance on it to overcome all the circumstances of the terrorist war and the unjust siege.
