For the time being, no mobile air purification devices are to be used at the Wörther School.

People prefer to rely on ventilation - and CO2 traffic lights.

Wörth

- ventilation is the order of the day: At the Wörth school committee meeting, the committee decided not to use mobile air cleaning devices for the time being, but to ventilate the classrooms regularly.

Because the windows can be opened in all classrooms.

So-called mobile CO2 traffic lights are to be purchased as support, which indicate when it is time to ventilate.

The committee considered this acquisition to be very useful.

The school management still wants to clarify how many CO2 traffic lights would be needed.

“We will definitely invest there”, announced Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG) and pointed out that the acquisition would also be funded.

A device costs 200 to 300 euros.

The total expenditure for all classrooms will be between 5000 and 7500 euros.

State funding amounts to 1,600 euros.

Ventilation is particularly important in the autumn and winter months.

According to scientific knowledge, it is important to prevent infections.

Air purification devices, on the other hand, are expensive and relatively noisy.

There is still no reliable knowledge about the effectiveness.

"We want to monitor further developments," said Gneißl.

However, the community has taken extensive action to get to the bottom of the odor nuisance in the Wörther school building, which has been a topic for decades (we reported).

Everything that needs to be investigated has been examined, said Gneißl.

The good news: no health hazards have been identified.

That creates a "certain level of security".

Targeted ventilation is a key element in achieving a certain improvement.

A major item in household advice is the repair of the classrooms that used to house the community library in order to make them usable for the open all-day school (OGTS) of the elementary and middle school.

Around 40,000 euros will be invested here.

The students should feel comfortable there.

When it comes to digitization, it is “sensible to be involved”, said the mayor.

They have currently invested around 47,600 euros to purchase five projectors for elementary and middle school and two classroom PCs for elementary school.

Two information rooms were equipped with servers and 36 student PCs.

In addition, the school's WiFi connection was provided.

Around 42,215 euros of these costs are eligible for funding.

Basically, it is important to use the funds from various programs well and on time.

The community will finance a certain amount of its own, said Gneißl.

Headmistress Andrea Rappold said of the digital equipment: “What hardware and software we have is great.

The problem is still the lines. ”Gneißl also addressed this.

The fiber optic technology would open up further possibilities.

A good 15,000 euros in funding would be available for digital loan devices.

The procurement of 24 rental devices (iPads) and a tablet case is already in progress.
