Despite his disqualification from the Judicial Selection Committee, Supreme Court President Esther Hayut and Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn today (Wednesday) decided to appoint the acting vice president of the Southern District Magistrate's Court, Justice Itai Bressler Gonen, as a judge in the Be'er Sheva district court. Sha'ar Hashalom in Tel Aviv Maayan Ben-Ari, who will become a judge in the Tel Aviv District Court.

According to MK Osnat Mark, she was also disqualified from the committee.

Bressler Gonen is considered a very systemic judge, and convenient to the prosecution and the prosecution.

He acts "according to the book" and it is estimated that he will do what the justice system and its superiors will ask for.

Although this is a temporary appointment, in which the justice of the peace will actually serve as a district judge, but in fact it is a way to a permanent appointment.

A few years later, the names of the interim judges come to the Judicial Selection Committee when they have already gained experience in the position itself, which improves their chances of winning a permanent appointment.

The appointment of these two judges was debated in the plenum of the committee two weeks ago and was disqualified!

Today, in all their splendor and solemnity, the Minister and the President brought them in through the back doors of the district.

This is how the method works!

This is how the junta works!

It's just a snatch!

The public deserves to know how judges are appointed in Israel, and I will make sure they know!

Behind the seemingly technical procedure, there was a real storm.

It began with the last hearing in the Judicial Selection Committee held on November 15.

The Supreme Court president brought up Bressler Gonen's name, but his candidacy was rejected and did not even come up for discussion.

The right-wing representatives on the committee asked to appoint Judge Ron Sulkin, but the parties did not reach an agreement and so it was decided to actually appoint Judge Gil Daniel as District Judge.

Beyond that, the Southern District Bar Association objected to the appointment due to Bressler Gonen's tendency toward the prosecution and the prosecution.

Against this background, it appears that Justice Minister Nissenkorn and Supreme Court President Hayut have found a way around a committee, even though this was done within their powers.

"In the end, this is a bite from someone who is comfortable with the system and will not cause problems, so we objected, but found a way to approve it through the back door," a source in the Bar Association told Israel Today.

Likud committee member MK Osnat Mark responded to the appointment when she tweeted: “The appointment of these two judges was discussed in the committee plenum two weeks ago and was disqualified.

Today, in all their splendor and solemnity, the Minister and the President brought them in through the back doors of the district.

This is how the method works, this is how the junta works, it's just snatching!
