The next Corona summit with Angela Merkel is history.
Tightening were decided as well as special rules for Christmas.
The Chancellor makes an urgent appeal.
The next
Corona
* summit will
take place in the Chancellery
on November 25th
.
The
federal states
have already worked out a
joint paper
.
Chancellor
Angela Merkel
*
welcomed the resolutions, but announced
her own proposals
.
It was decided to extend the lockdown as well as various tightenings.

Update from November 25, 10:41 p.m.:
The federal government and the state ministers met for around seven hours today.
In the late evening there were numerous new resolutions.
The current
contact
restrictions will be reduced again: in future, five people from two households will be allowed to meet - children under 14 years of age are excluded.
At the same time, the
lockdown measures will be extended until
January
.
However, there are exceptions for
Christmas
and
New Year's Eve
: The aim is to be able to celebrate Christmas with a maximum of ten people - children under 14 are also excluded here.
Nevertheless, both Chancellor Merkel and Markus Söder warn against carelessness.
"With the current figures, there are 6,000 people who do not experience Christmas," said Söder.
In addition, Merkel confirmed the
December aid
and introduced the
incidence value of more than 200
as a new level for strengthening the measures.
There are also
new requirements
for
retailers
and
shopping centers
: one customer is allowed to stay per 20 square meters of space.
Morning, Chancellor Merkel expressed from 9:00 am once again in an official
government statement

Corona summit: Merkel presents resolutions - Chancellor admits misjudgment
Update from November 25, 10:06 p.m.:
Is the
evening's
Corona package
of
measures
definitely sufficient?
Angela Merkel
does not want to commit: "I don't want to make any commitments," says the Chancellor: "We are very, very dependent on the citizens continuing to be sensible and show solidarity."
At the same time, Merkel admits a
misjudgment
: The
contact restrictions
that have
now been decided
are “more realistic than what we had in mind last week,” she says, referring to the earlier plans to only allow contact with one other person.
“That rightly led to criticism,” explains Merkel.
She is happy about the decision to further limit the number of customers in large shopping centers, for example.
The further progress of the pandemic remains to be seen: "We have seen how difficult it is to get down the infection curve." The press conference is now over.
Update from November 25th, 10:03 pm:
Rockets and firecrackers are “not a pandemic challenge per se,” says Söder in response to a further request - it is about the problem of
crowds
.
Accordingly, there is
no complete ban on fireworks
.
The arguments of the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) were convincing on this question, the CSU chief declared surprisingly open.
More far-reaching regulations could also be made on site, adds Müller.
Update from November 25th, 10:00 pm:
Söder opposes a critical question about the
contact restrictions at Christmas
- ten people -: "We all have families", he emphasizes - he did not want to enforce an image that was strongly centered on Christianity.
Merkel explains that it was deliberately formulated that the festival could be celebrated “with families and friends”.
Update from November 25th, 9:54 pm:
"We have agreed on a good set of rules that will certainly carry us well until the holidays," says Söder.
However, the free time must not turn into a setback again.
The end of summer did not go as desired, stressed the CSU boss.
That is precisely why it is important to exercise caution now.
Corona summit and the results - Söder warns: "6,000 people who do not experience Christmas"
Update from November 25th, 9:52 p.m.:
Bavaria's
Prime Minister Markus Söder
(CSU) is trying - like Müller before - to make the dangers of the crisis tangible.
There has never been
such a high number of corona cases
in
Germany as
these days.
The sideways trend in infections offers no reason to give the all-clear: If the number of deaths remains as high as it was last time, there will be another
“6,000 people who will not experience Christmas”
.
They are not a number in a statistic, but human fates.
Update from November 25, 9.46 p.m.:
Berlin's Governing
Mayor Michael Müller
(SPD) is satisfied with the results: As hoped, the round showed a perspective for the coming weeks.
He emphasizes that with the new rules there are also
adjustment options for the federal states
- on the one hand, stricter measures from the
incidence limit value of 200
.
"Countries that have very low numbers now also have the opportunity to make it easier to create a bit of normality," emphasizes Müller.
“You might not have to organize family celebrations as big as you have done in previous years,” regardless of the looser rules for Christmas,
Müller appeals
to the citizens.
Merkel announces results of the Corona summit: mask requirement is "intensified"
Update from November 25th, 9:36 p.m.:
As a new measure, Merkel names the already leaked
plans for sharper square meter boundaries in shopping centers
.
In areas with an
incidence of over 200
and a diffuse infection rate, measures should also be able to be expanded - currently affects Berlin and 62 other districts.
The
mask requirement
will generally be "intensified" again, and
universities will
switch to digital teaching
.
The number of contacts is limited to five people from two households.
The goal is to be able to celebrate Christmas - with a maximum of ten people.
Children did not count towards these totals.
Attention is also
paid
to
opportunities to visit old people's and nursing homes
.
Schools should remain open, but in higher grades they are
required to wear a mask
.
In the areas with an incidence above 200,
hybrid and alternating teaching should be
possible.
Merkel also confirms the
December aid
.
Update from November 25th, 9:35 p.m.:
Merkel once again urges citizens to
exert themselves
.
“Patience, solidarity, and discipline will be put to the test again,” she says.
The Chancellor urged to avoid all unnecessary contacts, and
employers
were called
home office
permit and if appropriate in
closing
to go.
One wants to work on a European level for a ban on skiing holidays - although difficulties are to be expected.
At the same time, the
lockdown measures
will be
extended
until the beginning of January
.
Corona summit: Merkel's statement now live - Chancellor starts with a swipe
Update from November 25th, 9:30 p.m.:
Chancellor Angela Merkel has now appeared in front of the press with Markus Söder and Michael Müller.
It begins with a little swipe: "We met extensively, you were able to follow that," she says, looking at the numerous pieces of information.
The
partial lockdown
brought a
flatter infection
curve
and
prevented
a worse situation in the
intensive care units
- but it was only a "partial success".
Accordingly, there are two messages to the citizens: On the one hand, thanks for the “solidarity-based acceptance” of the requirements.
On the other hand, there is also the news that the regulations cannot currently be withdrawn.
Update from November 25, 9:23 p.m.:
Saxony-Anhalt's Prime Minister
Reiner Haseloff (CDU)
has already made a statement.
It confirms the agreement on new
hotspot limit values
as well as the decision for
“December aid”
for sectors affected by the lockdown and new maximum values for customer capacity in retail.
Haseloff also suggests: There will
probably be a patchwork quilt on
the question of
easing for New Year's Eve
.
Basically, softer contact restrictions for the period from December 23rd to January 1st have been decided.
But he “knows” that some countries may want to readjust this, said the CDU politician.
Merkel's Corona summit: Ramelow announces first resolutions - "Nobody assumes ..."
Update from November 25th, 9:15 p.m.:
The Chancellor has apparently
prevailed
in the
Corona dispute over the railway
: In future,
only window
seats should be reserved
in
long-distance traffic
.
At the same time, the seat capacity on the trains is to be increased significantly, as the picture reports.
“For customers traveling together, areas are provided in which seats next to each other can also be reserved,” the decision allegedly states.
The announcement of the resolutions seems to be approaching:
Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow
(left) has already left the group and has appeared in front of the press.
According to him, the partial lockdown is to be extended until the beginning of January, only for formal reasons the decision will initially be limited to December 20: Nobody among the heads of government assumes that hotels and restaurants will be opened beforehand.
Update from November 25th, 9:00 p.m.:
There is apparently the green light for further
financial aid for lockdown-damaged companies
.
According to the
dpa,
Chancellor Merkel and the Prime Ministers have agreed on this.
Nevertheless, this step was definitely expected.
In the afternoon Merkel had allegedly aroused doubts about further, unchanged high payments in the new year.
Merkel's Corona summit: first school plans are in place - criticism of the evening's resolutions is growing
Update from November 25, 8:47 p.m.:
Now there is a
decision in terms of school lessons
: In regions with particularly
high
numbers of infections
,
alternating
and sometimes so-called
hybrid
lessons
should now be
allowed - from the 8th grade.
This is reported by the
picture
.
There are currently no official confirmations or indications of an imminent press conference.
Update from November 25th, 8:32 p.m.:
After the resolutions of the early evening, there is now
apparently a large
standstill
at the
Corona summit
.
Information is currently not leaking out - the situation could point to more serious
disputes over schools
.
In the meantime, criticism of previous decisions is growing in social networks.
Among other things,
long lines in front of the shops during the Christmas season
are feared
.
The background to this is the plan to reduce customer capacity in shopping centers, for example.
Furthermore, some negative effects of the
easing over Christmas and New Year
on the infection rate are feared.
Deutsche Umwelthilfe
calls for further measures
.
The association calls on all 11,000 municipalities
to enact
nationwide firecrackers bans
.
That creates "clarity".
The federal and state governments apparently only want to appeal to the people in the country to refrain from fireworks.
Cities and municipalities can, however, define zones in which pyrotechnics are prohibited - at least if the decision becomes a reality as reported.
Corona summit in the Chancellery: The Left makes violent accusations at the federal and state levels - "Not thought possible"
Update from November 25, 8:05 p.m.:
The
Corona summit
seems to be stuck in protracted
school debates
- despite days of preparation.
Meanwhile, there is already harsh criticism of the expected results.
After many months of the pandemic, the
actions of the federal government have
not become more professional, more understandable or more forward-looking, said
left parliamentary group leader Dietmar Bartsch
in a Twitter video in the evening: "We have experienced a way of preparation in the last few days like me not thought possible. "
The Chancellor remains guilty of the medium-term corona concept, which she herself warned.
The measures are often illogical and not transparent.
This is how you lose the trust of the citizens.
We need a medium-term plan, also for the post-corona period.
pic.twitter.com/Tp99mIGvTJ
- Dietmar Bartsch (@DietmarBartsch) November 25, 2020
Just a few weeks
ago,
Chancellor Angela Merkel
said that a medium-term concept was needed.
This was not submitted.
“We live again for a few days.
We live now until Christmas and shortly thereafter.
Then the Bundestag will probably decide again without a debate, ”said Bartsch.
This procedure does not go that way.
This is how you lose the trust of the citizens.
One will
advertise to adhere to the measures taken
.
However, many are
illogical and not transparent
, he criticized.
Corona summit at Merkel: big offensive on skiing holidays?
Update from November 25th, 7:25 p.m.:
Angela Merkel's group also discussed
the topic of
ski tourism in
the evening: According to a report by
Bild
, the
goal is
to ban
ski travel
at European level
until January 10th
.
In neighboring
Austria
, however, such thought games have already met with tough resistance.
Italy, on the other hand, supports such plans
At the same time, the Chancellor and the federal states apparently want to make an urgent
appeal to the population in their own country
: "All professional and private trips that are not absolutely necessary, especially tourist trips abroad, including with regard to the ski season, are to be avoided", it turns out
cited
a
draft resolution
.
In the meantime, fundamental questions also arise about the overall strategy of the round in the Chancellery.

Merkel's Corona summit agrees: hard contact rule is coming
Update from November 25th, 6:55 p.m.:
We have to correct ourselves: A few minutes
ago
another
agreement between the federal and state governments
leaked out.
As the
dpa
wants to have learned from summit participants from the ranks of the federal states, the
contact restrictions
are
actually to be
tightened
significantly.
In December, people in Germany should
meet
a maximum of friends, relatives and acquaintances from
one other household
-
a maximum of five people
from this
household
.
After the heated debates about the “one-child rule”, children up to the age of 14 are supposed to be exempted from this requirement.
Schleswig-Holstein
meanwhile wants to adhere to its own contact restrictions.
Update from November 25th, 6:50 p.m.:
Currently there seems to be concentrated debate in the Chancellery - in the last few minutes no further information has been pierced.
Maybe this is because of the topic: According to reports, the sensitive area of
schools
is currently being
discussed.
Breakthroughs at the Corona summit in the Chancellery: Christmas decision there
Update from November 25th, 5.45 p.m.:
Now the
Corona summit is
happening in rapid succession: The
strict contact
restrictions
to contain the pandemic are to be
relaxed over Christmas
.
The
dpa
learned this from participants from various federal states.
A confirmation from the federal side and the final resolution of the entire paper are still pending.
Apparently,
meetings “with close family or friends” should be possible
from December 23,
up to
a maximum of ten people in total
.
Relatives children up to the age of 14 should be exempt from this.
According to information from participants, the exemption should now
apply
“at the longest” until January 1st
.
If this wording is retained, it would initially be unclear whether the relaxations will ultimately also apply over New Year's Eve.
Corona summit at Merkel: Böller decision probably made
Update from November 25, 5:35 p.m.:
Another
corona agreement
has apparently been found: It is about the irritating topic of
fireworks on New Year's Eve
.
Fireworks
on "busy streets and squares" will be banned in 2020
, reports the
picture
.
So you want to avoid crowds.
However, the ban is probably not as harsh as it sounds at first: Contrary to what the SPD countries demand, there will probably be
no general sales ban for firecrackers and co
.
In general, there should only be a “recommendation not to use fireworks”.
Accordingly, it seems conceivable that “fireworks in a small group”, as demanded by NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU), will be allowed by the federal and state governments.
Breakthroughs at Merkel's Corona summit: first tightening fix - new limit value is coming
Update from November 25th, 5.10 p.m.:
The
Chancellor and the federal states have now apparently
decided on
another important practical
measure
: As the
Tagesspiegel
claims to have learned, there will be a new
"hotspot limit"
in the future
.
From an
incidence of 200
, the corona rules are to be tightened again, it is said.
For a long time, the value of
50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week was
the highest decisive factor.
However, large parts of the republic are currently above this mark.
Corona summit: bang from Merkel?
Chancellor allegedly indicates economic shock
Update from November 25th, 4:15 p.m.:
A new
massive problem in dealing with the corona measures is
looming - and it seems bigger than a short-term conflict between the federal government and the states:
Chancellor Angela Merkel
(CDU) has, according to information from
bild. de
at the summit
indicated
an
end to
the hitherto particularly extensive
economic
aid.
According to the head of government, the
federal government could
“not
pay
the entire winter” financial aid
in the amount last granted.
Allegedly, the aid in December will amount to
17 billion euros
.
Should this scope of funding be reduced, new explosive questions arise - the
call for an end to the lockdown
could swell massively.
At the same time, countless
economic livelihoods
could be
in danger
.
However, so far this is unconfirmed information.
Spicy:
Shortly before the summit, the
tourism industry
asked for more predictability.
The association therefore regards the current plans with "mixed feelings", said the General Secretary of the
Federal Association of the German Tourism
Industry
, Michael Rabe.
They didn't go far enough.
"In addition, words must finally be followed by action, especially with the November aid, from which not a single euro has flowed."
Merkel at the summit with Prime Minister: first rule agreement apparently fixed
Update from November 25th, 3:35 p.m.:
An
initial agreement between the Chancellery and the federal states
now seems to be fixed: In
shopping centers
, there will also be a limitation on the
maximum number of visitors
in the future
.
According to reports, the Chancellor and Prime Minister have agreed on the rule of “20 square meters” per customer.
Obviously, this is a freshly negotiated
compromise
.
The Chancellery, it was said, had proposed a limit of 25 square meters per customer before the summit - this would have resulted in a lower limit for the number of visitors.
In smaller shops, the rule of thumb of 10 square meters per customer is said to continue to apply.
Update from November 25, 3:22 p.m.:
Will the
Corona consultations with Chancellor Angela Merkel be
too long today?
Despite long preparations, the summit does not seem to go off without a dispute - reports indicate that there is already a first point of conflict.
Corona summit with Merkel: Söder demands tightening of colleagues - "as if a plane crashed every day"
Update from November 25, 2:45 p.m.: The
federal and state governments have been talking about new - and longer valid - corona rules for around 45 minutes.
Bavaria's head of state Markus Söder (CSU) is
a proponent of stricter measures
.
According to a report from
Bild
, he emphasized the urgency of the situation with a pithy comparison right at the beginning of the video round.
“We mustn't lose any time.
The death toll is currently as high as if a plane crashed every day, ”said Söder allegedly.
The measures should be extended and tightened, he said, according to the report.
In the morning, the
CSU boss
had already called for
“clear rules” for hotspots, including
compulsory masking in schools
and
“restrictions” for businesses
.
Corona summit is underway: Virologist warns Merkel and Co. of errors and gives wake-up call - "Cannot be reached"
Update from November 25th, 2.10 p.m.:
In the meantime, the
video consultations between the Chancellor and Prime Minister should be
running - meanwhile, advice and demands on the new
Corona rules continue
to rattle on Angela Merkel and Co.
The
virologist Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit has
warned against measures based on the watering can principle.
"We have to get to exactly the point where the infections mainly occur, arise and specifically sharpen them," the scientist told the radio station
Bayern2
.
Less useful
is it
wide to adopt measures
, "which prevail bad and can control and the effect just not bring what we really hope for."
+
The virologist Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit.
© dpa / Daniel Bockwoldt
Schmidt-Chanasit
sees the behavior of the population as decisive.
“And I can influence that without any additional measures.
It all depends on whether the population participates to a certain extent or not, ”said the virologist.
Even before the partial lockdown began, Schmidt-Chanasit pointed out that the
general protection
rules
and warning app were
actually sufficient - if they were implemented consistently.
However, the virologist added in the interview on Wednesday that the value of 50 infections per 100,000 residents * in seven days “cannot be achieved in the next few months from my point of view”.
New corona rules at the Merkel summit?
Country heads consult again
Update from November 25, 12.20 p.m.:
Before the
Corona summit with Angela Merkel
, the
country bosses met
for virtual consultations.
It is about details of the planned
corona rules
, for example how many customers are allowed to be in a store at the same time.
The
German Press Agency
learned this from participants on Wednesday.
Update from November 25th, 11.50 a.m.:
In the NRW state parliament, Prime Minister
Armin Laschet
spoke out in
favor of the "greatest possible consensus" at the
Corona summit
with the federal and state governments on Wednesday.
"The stronger and the more jointly this is achieved at the federal level, the clearer the signal is to the people in the country," Laschet emphasized.
He
said, referring to the infection process, "no thought will be given" to
possible
corona loosening
at the corona summit.
"That is the minimum we can do in solidarity," said
Laschet
about an extension of
November aid
to December for companies.
Corona summit with Merkel: Lockdown in Germany - Lauterbach expresses himself
Update from November 25th, 10:54 am:
"It works about half as strong as we expected," said
Karl Lauterbach
on Wednesday morning in the
ARD morning magazine
.
According to Lauterbach, the
partial lockdown will
lower the number
of
corona infections far less than expected.
The reason for this is, among other things, new sources of infection in schools, for example.
According to
Lauterbach,
everyone
should “get together”
for a
Christmas party
together.
His recommendation: pre-quarantine before the festive season and “don't shop so much”.
Christmas should not be remembered as the festival when they lost loved ones because of the virus, he warned.
Shortly before the
Corona summit
on Wednesday, there are dramatic scenes in front of the Chancellery in Berlin.
A dark station wagon drove into the gate of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin on Wednesday morning.
That said a police spokeswoman for the
German press agency
.
The background is unclear.
Angela Merkel at Corona summit: Confusion about Christmas holidays - rules in Germany
Update from November 25th, 9:58 a.m.:
Apparently there was confusion about when the federal government
would like to start
the
Christmas holidays
.
On Tuesday evening there was talk that these were already planned for December 16 (see update, November 25, 10:10 p.m.).
In the
resolution proposed by the federal states
, December 19 was mentioned.
In the
federal resolution proposal
, however, December 19 is also planned and not December 16.
The journalist Michael Bröcker referred to this on Twitter.
Confusion in the Chancellery at @HBraun and in some agency reports.
The Christmas holidays should NOT be brought forward to December 16 (a Wednesday!) But to December 19.
And that was also the first (smiled at) suggestion from Mr. @ArminLaschet #servicetweet pic.twitter.com/L8lq2cDiZ5
- Michael Bröcker (@MichaelBroecker) November 24, 2020
Update from November 25, 9:50 a.m.:
The FDP domestic politician
Konstantin Kuhle
is in favor of a long-term
corona strategy
.
"We can already see that the first owners of shops give up, that simply the courage and hope are slowly being lost," he said on the RTL program
Guten Morgen Deutschland
.
“That's why we finally need a long-term strategy until spring.” He warned against
letting even fewer customers into the shops
before
Christmas
.
"This is a desolation program for the inner cities," said Kuhle.
“If shops have a functioning
hygiene concept
, then it cannot be explained why the number of customers should be reduced further now.
The Prime Ministers and the Federal Chancellor urgently need to rework this. "
"It needs a clear perspective until spring," said
Katrin Göring-Eckardt
(Greens) in a list of demands from which the newspapers of the
editorial network in Germany
quoted.
“The federal and state governments are not allowed to drive on sight again, a plan for a few weeks is not enough.”
Karl Lauterbach also commented
on the current
Corona situation
in Germany
on Wednesday
.
Corona summit with Merkel: press conference in the afternoon live
Update from November 25th, 9.25 am:
"I very much hope that not everyone is driving all over the country," said
Katrin Göring-Eckardt
, leader of the
Greens
, in the ARD
morning magazine
on Wednesday with regard to Christmas.
The festival will have to be celebrated differently than usual.
Update from November 25, 8:11 a.m.:
The Greens parliamentary group leader in the Bundestag,
Katrin Göring-Eckardt
, has called for long-term and nationwide uniform
corona rules
.
“What we need is first of all transparency and honesty.
And we need perspective.
And that means that we have
risk levels
, ”she said on Wednesday morning in the
ARD morning magazine.
The rules should apply uniformly nationwide and be
applied on site
depending on the
infection rate
.
The debates between the countries in the past few weeks have led to
uncertainty
among the people.
“You lose the overview and you lose your nerve,” said Goering-Eckardt.
Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder
spoke out in favor of strict
contact restrictions,
including on
New Year's Eve
, prior to the deliberations between the state leaders and Angela Merkel
- unlike most countries striving for.
"Because Christmas is the festival of the family, New Year's Eve is of course more the festival of friends," said the CSU boss (also in the
ARD morning magazine
). He would rather be more consistent over the turn of the year than over Christmas.
A press conference is planned for the late afternoon - as usual, you can follow it live here.
Merkel invites you to the summit today: "Please not too complicated" - clear corona rules required
Update from November 25th, 5.57 a.m.:
The
German Association of Cities is
calling
for clearer
communication
between the
federal
and state
governments
in the
corona crisis
.
"We need good communication so that the
partial lockdown
is accepted further," said the President of the German Association of Cities, Burkhard Jung (SPD), the
Rheinische Post
before the
top round
of the federal and state governments.
"The rules have to be simple and understandable for people, so please not overly complicated."
Only if the decisions are clear and comprehensible, "we have the chance that the vast majority will continue to participate and
limit
their
contacts
," said the SPD politician.
The
video switching
of the federal and state governments is particularly important this time, “not just because it was so jerky last time”.
Especially at
Christmas time
, people wanted to know what to expect, said Jung about the advice on the Corona rules.
"You want to
plan and enjoy
the holidays and the
turn of
the
year
as carefree as possible in the
pandemic
."
But still a dispute at Merkel's Corona summit?
Chancellery wants to tighten corona rules - Söder is also calling for more
Update from November 24th, 10:10 p.m.:
How turbulent will the next
Corona summit with Chancellor Angela Merkel be
?
The
federal states
wanted to do better after the dispute over quite arbitrary draft resolutions by the Chancellery in the previous edition.
Coordinations between the state chancelleries and papers on the corona rules have been going on for days.
But on the evening before the meeting, there is still unrest.
Because the Chancellery has once again called for improvements - the states denied reports that these ideas are already consensus among them.
According to the ideas in Merkel's house, the aim is to ensure that there are
no more than
one customer per 25 square meters of sales
area
in
shops
- according to the previous Corona rules, it is one customer per ten square meters.
In order to make travel safer, the
number of occupied seats on trains is to be
significantly reduced.
In principle, only all window seats should be bookable for the winter months.
At the same time, however, the capacity of the trains is to be increased.
In the evening it was also said that the federal government wanted to start the
Christmas holidays
in
schools
as early as December
16
.
In a submission by the federal states, December
19 is mentioned
.
It is undisputed: The
partial lockdown that
has been in force since the beginning of November
with the closure of pubs and restaurants as well as cultural and leisure facilities is to be extended until at least December 20.
However, virologist Christian Drosten identified gaps in the current lockdown concept on Tuesday.
On Wednesday evening, however, it was still open whether there would be
easing not only for Christmas but also for New Year's Eve
- Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder is against it.
The prime ministers call for domestic self-quarantine to be carried out for several days before Christmas.
"This can be supported by the Christmas school holidays that may be preferred from December 19, 2020," says the draft of the federal states on Monday evening.
According to the ideas of the federal government,
a more generous
test option
should also be offered
for
cold symptoms before Christmas in
order to make encounters at Christmas time as safe as possible.
Corona summit in the Chancellery: Christmas will be serious on Wednesday - is Merkel sharpening it?
First report:
Berlin - On Wednesday there will be
another showdown
in the
Federal Chancellery
.
The next
corona summit
is coming up.
Chancellor Angela Merkel
* wants to discuss and decide on the further timetable in the pandemic with the prime ministers of the federal states.
All information on the development of the corona rules can be found here in the live ticker.
Corona summit in the live ticker: What the federal states have already decided
This time the virtual meeting should be much more harmonious than last time.
Corona measures were agreed in October, which
amounted to
a
partial lockdown
, but Merkel did not go far enough.
She should be proved right.
The exponential
increase in the number of Corona * infections
could be stopped, but the number of newly infected remained high.
And so the
