1975, is a psychologist and psychological psychotherapist (behavioral therapy).

He has been a research assistant in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2004, where he has headed the Center for Psychotherapy since 2012.

His main research interests are depression and suicidality.
