A fragile state of health
Michel Fourniret was urgently hospitalized on Friday, November 20 after being discovered unconscious in his cell at Fresnes prison.

Asked by AFP, the Prison Administration had also refused to confirm press information according to which the septuagenarian was in intensive care.
During several interrogations, the 78-year-old serial killer also invoked an "
aging memory.

The Fourniret trail studied in a case dating back more than twenty years.
The body of a young woman, buried under X in October 1997 in Yonne was exhumed on Tuesday, November 24 at the request of Sabine Kheris, the examining magistrate in charge of the investigation into the murders attributed to Michel Fourniret.

The exhumation of this body could make it possible to compare the DNA of it to different traces found on a mattress seized in 2003 in a house in Ville-sur-Lumes (Ardennes), near Charleville-Mézières.
It is in this house, affirms the ex-wife of the serial killer, that he would have raped and killed Estelle Mouzin.
New excavations planned for December.
While several excavations have been carried out recently in the Ardennes by Sabine Kheris, who resumed the investigations in 2019. A source close to the case told AFP that new investigations were planned in early December.
They could lead to the discovery of the body of the young Estelle Mouzin who disappeared in 2003 in Guermantes, in Seine-et-Marne.

Michel Fourniret would have recently indicated to Judge Kheris the exact location where the body of the young girl who disappeared in 2003 would be buried, according to information reported by our colleagues from France Info on November 20.
Investigators should go to the location indicated on December 7.
While Michel Fourniret had always denied his involvement in the disappearance of Estelle Mouzin, the analysis of the mattress seized in 2003 in the house of Ville-sur-Lumes had revealed the presence of the girl's genetic imprint and immediately led the indictment of the killer in November 2019 for "
kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death
".
But Estelle's body is still missing.
Last October, searches conducted by Judge Kheris in the presence of the serial killer were carried out in the Ardennes, without success.
On November 12, the national gendarmerie launched an appeal for witnesses in the hope of obtaining new information on "
ongoing judicial investigations
" that may involve Michel Fourniret and Monique Olivier.
