US President Donald Trump announced on his Twitter account that he granted a "total pardon" to his former National Security adviser Michael Flynn, and wished him a happy Thanksgiving.
In late 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts in the 2016 presidential election. However, Flynn later denied his statement and tried to have the case dismissed.
In a twist this spring, the Justice Department dropped the case, which still remains in legal limbo.
